Charged me for leads outside of my chosen geographical area, no real way to dispute and no way to talk to a person

Thumbtack has been good to me, as far as leads, but the charges are ridiculous! I had countless charges feom people who are tire kicking and don’t respond. Also any other type of possible lead. Honestly, I had so many random charges I couldn’t keep up with which is which... $50 for a less than 1000sqft yard etc etc (couldn’t charge someone more than $30 for this) that makes you upside down. And this is to much money in tree work!!! To where jobs are all over $1500, let that sink in to the little guys! Thumbtack has no support to talk to (or at least support that answers anything) Take your money and go with a company that has a monthly fee or something similar. You’ll spend WAY more with this program.

This company steals money constantly and getting a refund is impossible. Run from this company. They will steal your hard earned money. They will kick you off and steal all your contacts you paid for if a customer says anything. Even though most the time the customer is irrational and wants something for nothing. All around this company is a terrible experience
False leads
bad service even in a pandemic
Ton of bs leads. Customer creates an account and makes a request...then deletes the app and account completely. Why can’t I get my refund for that particular situation. I looked at the help articles which is no help at all. Says no refund for paid lead.... what lead is gone in 4 -8 hours and removed and deleted from the app.
Not worth it

They have fake leads and even if they are real, they sell them to the contractor for a hefty “discounted price” I’m better off with home advisor. At least they provide you with a name address and phone number. Also they don’t sell it to more then 3 contractors so you can have a chance in wining the bid. Run!!!!

Good idea for an app and I’m thankful there’s a platform to get your name out there, but charging every time someone emails you is a bit much. I understand developers want in on the action but the fees are too much. Also if you have a service that doesn’t match their pre-selected services you can’t advertise here. It would be better to have an “other” tab where you could fill in your services and maybe make separate profiles for different services. Instead you have to sign up under different emails if you’re a pro at two completely different services.

I was send lead after lead with the issuance but was never contacted back when weeks and never was refunded by Thumbtack !! “Total Ripoff “. Also they have a fake customer service number. Shady business practices ????????????????
Needs improvement

Been on the site for a few weeks. Had a few inquiries but no one has booked. Only 1 client actually messaged me back. For some reason when they do the inquiry the always put the next day they are needing the job done but in reality it’s at a later date this needs to be fixed. I do like that if the client doesn’t read your message you’re refunded the lead. I just hope it starts to pay off soon.
