As a contractor, I agreed to do a job, however when I got to the home, no one was there. I happened to be in Aiken SC doing work at my sisters, so I agreed to do another job while I was there. Homeowners were not there and never responded back. NOW , THUMBTACK IS CHARGING ME $30.00 for not doing the job. No one from Thumbtack will respond. Please hit “LIKE” if you experienced same problems.

Super Expensive and Needs to Qualify Customers Better

I’m a painter. I paid $21 for a lead that was to paint two ceilings. I was charged less to paint two full rooms. Thumbtack doesn’t give answers to this and you constantly have to fight to get money back but you don’t actually don’t your money back they give it to you as site credit then seems like the up charge on your next leads so you use all your credits. Once my credits are done I’m out. Do yourself a favor and save money.

The app developers have to do a way way way better job with educating consumers as a REALISTIC costs for performing different tasks. For example I’ve been contacted, and charged for “direct leads”, by folks that have zero clue what stuff costs. My favorite “can you make customs cabinets for around 200 dollars”, that question cost me $25.

I just wish there was a way for a company that started its business could become more visible. I would be willing to pay extra for it because you all charge a fair price for leads compared to HomeAdvisor.

I am I just left a review of regarding how misleading this company has been due to many issues stating there’s a high demand for what services I provide when it’s been a year and a half since anyone has requested them in my area so I don’t know in what universe that’s high demand but with everything being done remotely you would think they would want to help their people get jobs so they basically only care if you set up your targeting a lead it because that allows them to automatically deduct the money from your account and I’ll be honest 90% of people are just shopping for prices him it’s really too bad because they guarantee that they’ll pay back anything that’s not a real lead and despite many emails they have not refunded me they told me my leads would be anywhere from 3 to 9 dollars I don’t know where 3 to 9 dollars turns into $20 a lead but yeah that’s pretty expensive for one lead and you don’t usually get the majority of them that I am reach out to you you’re going to actually have to pay for many leads that you don’t get it because there’s so much competition in many areas and they go by your ZIP Code so they’re not actually sending it out all over to everyone is if it’s not in your ZIP Code or your target or whatever it’s really a whole hoax to take your money it’s a great concept but I never can get this app to work right I have to keep re-downloading it every time I have a thing come through the numerous amounts of email are just insane you miss important things because thumbtack emails you everything every time someone puts in which yeah that’s nice but I get a text message I get an email I mean for god sake‘s I’m just it’s it’s ridiculous and I am really they don’t they don’t care they they see the assure that though the refund you for anything but they don’t go there to help you set up your thing and said if you’re targeting leads because that allows them to take money directly they want you to pay for these cheaper price points where it gives you the leads but you know what everyone I have talk to you and seeing did not get anything off of the hundreds of dollars spent! You can get Service to set up everything and they were very helpful to make sure that they can get you to be locked in to having to pay them directly because the lead fits you perfectly it’s just it’s all set up in their favor they don’t really care about getting us up so be careful I would highly recommend you not put the not buy those leads because that allows them to just take that from you and I don’t know anyone that’s really gotten a lot of work off of it are there very I miss leading and many ways and I feel that they have no problem making many attempts to get this eight dollars from me when they have absolutely no effort to refund the $48 that they took for me so kind of funny how that works ha ha no what they care about and to them as small or freelancers they don’t have us as a priority to get work it’s a good show because they want you to target clients so they can take money for all the things and say is assured refund but. Good luck I had to disconnect them from taking payments as they clearly didn’t do their job I works so hard for barely anything!

Don’t waste your time with this app you spend and spend and get no results complete waste of time. I wouldn’t be surprised if the people at thumbtack is making these fake leads just too get your money

Thumbtack has definitely added to our revenue by providing us with leads that have successfully turned into completed and paid jobs. Their leads are extremely worth the little amount of money we pay for them. For example...I paid $13 for a lead last Friday that turned into a $1800 sale that was executed on the Monday after. One of the better avenues for paid leads. Definitely the most affordable.

They dont care if you get the job! You pay anyways!

They send you leads and you have 4hrs to reply and if they say no thanks you still have to pay for the lead! Some leads cost up to $60 thats crazy!!!! They said they will refund if they dont read the reply in 48hrs but its a lie! That happened to me and they did not refund and i reported with My credit card and they send documentation to fight the dispute. Stay away pay google ads thats like $1 a lead! Of facebook ads even cheaper. Greedy company that only want to get your money and dont give a f if you get the job! Upate to reply Ridiculous! They sent me an email saying I was getting my refund and never got that credit on my card. I did a dispute with the credit card company and they still fought it. Stay away from this company!

I’ve tried them all and thumbtack is fair and honest. Unlike yelp who likes to charge you for literally nothing some months, thumbtack only charged you for leads that match and the turnover rate is pretty high considering how many leads come in. Thumbtack allowed me to start this business from literally nothing and now three years later I’m still going strong with them. Thank you thumbtack team!

I opened an account for one day and upon deciding I didn’t want to pay for leads they give you, I deactivated my account. About a half hour later I saw a charge for 30 dollars on my account for something I never used! And now they refuse to give me a refund unless I reopen an account and go through it that way. What a joke
