Charged my account without permission

TylerCasey

Sketchy and deceiving company. Ended up not using any of the services so I can not speak on the counseling services. I paid the original fee which was fine but then they charged my account $400 the following month after I didn’t use any of the original hours and time I paid for. I was informed the was a subscription. The site made it like look like it was a one time payment at a discount. Customer service has not reached back out…it has been a week. Horrible service would not recommend. Save your money and time.

Convenient….

Poor customer service

I’ve used a few different therapy apps over the years and I have to say the customer service is pretty awful on this one. Impossible to get a response, typically when you submit a ticket nothing happens for 2+ weeks then you are notified to please reach back if you haven’t magically found a way to resolve the issue. Love my therapist but unfortunately I am going to have to switch platforms because of customer service. UPDATE: Got a response (albeit a canned one) faster on this one star review than the last 5 of my customer support requests!!!! HA!

This is so bad I want to give it 0 stars

But that’s not possible so I give it one. None of the providers ever respond. They will say hello, and I will say hi and explain the situation I’m looking to get help with. Then I never got a response and I am billed. I have tried to complain to the support team about this and they don’t respond either. It has been two months and I have not gotten a response from at least six different providers nor from the support team.

Don’t… Just don’t.

Great concept but horrible execution. Only two providers were available after signing up. I chose the one female provider. After pouring out my traumatic experiences regarding a phobia, this provider told me “just don’t think about it and you won’t have anxiety”. Wow, why didn’t I think of that? Problem solved… You can’t make this stuff up. I contacted support but they’re nowhere to be found. Oh well.

The matching agents leave you in the middle of conversations. If you don't meet their criteria, they just don't talk to you. They just send you resources and never reply even when you try to send a message back. You can't get past the screen, so you're stuck there. This is extremely insensitive. I don't really understand how the value is to make therapy easy and affordable. They only partner with three insurance plans, and if you're not one of them, they're like, oh, we only work with self paid clients. They don't even TRY to understand your situation, I'm actually wondering if we're talking to humans or robots.

Doesn’t help

PorcupineSage

Just got asked question after question and told things I already know. There was no goal setting or any of the other things that are promised. It felt like most of what I was taking the time to say went unheard, or was forgotten within a week. I don’t see how this can help anyone and it’s very expensive… also, when you go to cancel auto renew, it’s insulting how you get treated. …Om mani Padme hum

This company is HORRIBLY overpriced

Jovix is a great app!

This app and company are wolves in sheep’s clothing. They want $149 per week to “help people.” That’s $7,748 per year. Do you know anyone with that money laying around? Only people who are desperate would pay that kind of money on a regular basis, so in my not so humble opinion these guys are ripping people off. Maybe the CEO should consider becoming a non profit if their true goal was to help people.

How is there 4.7 star rating?

All of the reviews are 1 or 2 stars. It’s crap that these companies can scam people for there money and not pay people back or give them the services they paid for. The App Store should not allow this company to decide what reviews and stars can be shown. This is not cool. This is truly is ridiculous. If you need a therapist just call a mental health provider at your local clinic. Way cheaper and reliable.

You’re getting much less than what you pay for.

Think of the bare minimum platitudes you might’ve got from a school therapist. To give you a point of reference, the selections of therapists on this app are less than half as useful as that, if they even respond to you that is. I personally went through four different therapists, two of which immediately ghosted me for two entire weeks after introductions with no scheduled vacations mentioned in the app whatsoever to prepare me for that. One therapist simply sent me a PDF file of self-help strategies and wouldn’t even let me talk to them one on one about my own personal struggles that I sought therapy for in the first place. It’s like paying 300$ a month to be gaslit into feeling like it’s your fault you aren’t getting anything out of your therapy by a bunch of automated responses that will constantly antagonize you for wanting more out of the service. I was very patient and I’m sure the individual therapists have little control over the poor system, but don’t trust Better Help.
