It does not stay connected like it I supposed to. It also does not connect consistently to the camera. When it works it’s great, but you can’t rely on it.

I use both and am very satisfied with them. I am originally a Kodak person but have 2 Nikon’s and pleased with both. I hope one day to get one that goes directly to the social media without having to go through a phone or tablet but till then I am very pleased

Perhaps it’s because I’m an amateur admittedly, but I am in love with this feature that Nikon has given us for FREE!! It took me a minute to figure out how to sync to my phone but it turned out that was because my phone wasn’t allowing new connections. Once I fixed that it was easy peasy from there. It’s amazing to be able to take pictures and have them immediately on my phone ready to upload or to send to clients. I couldn’t be happier with the app.

I’ve downloaded this a few times hoping it would be functional. Well, this time, it is! Ignore the old bad reviews, this app works now. I’ve had success getting photos from my D3400 since the last update. It takes a few steps to set up, but once you do, it works like a charm.

My phone had become unpaired and I couldn’t re-pair but I finally got it to work. The problem was with a complicated UI where you have to go back and forth between the phone and camera pressing buttons on both, and I had kept missing the last step. During the pairing process there’s a step where you choose a camera. This camera name should match the name displayed on your camera’s screen. Then the camera displays a code and that code should be displayed in SnapBridge. Choose it, and the app will say “Pairing...”. Now you have to go back to the camera and press “OK” on the camera screen for the pairing process to complete. That last sentence is the one I had kept missing before. I suspect now I’ll go back to the happy state I was in earlier where the camera automatically has correct time stamps, GPS coordinates and photos magically appear in the Photos app. I’ll update my rating from 1 star to 3 but I can’t go to 5 because the setup process is so painful. I bet most of the other 1 star reviewers are having the same problem as me. Nikon, you should add a video to the help page.

Got a new d850 and want to use the advertised connectivity. Like so many other software offerings from Nikon this one is unreliable, confusing, and lacks important features (unable to transfer RAW or TIFF files). I was able to connect and download images about one try in twenty, if at all. You go all the way to various stages in the convoluted process and it fails. I’m not sure why you have to make a Bluetooth and WiFi connection simultaneously to download selected files, but that just creates more opportunities for dropped connections. If you want a d500 or d850 with connectivity, forget it, buy something else.
