Great app

Runs my lights automatically.

Great when it does work

Glad I spent several hundreds of dollars more to have smart appliances. This app hasn’t worked for about a month now. I cannot add my devices to it. It took several emails to be told that there is an issue and that the engineers are working on it. It shouldn’t take a month to discover the issue. I wonder how long it will take them to actually fix the problem!? At one point my fridge couldn’t connect for about a month. Sick and tired of wasting so much time trying to get my appliances to connect with this app. I wish there was another option for a different app to connect to.

Network or server disconnected

MandoMan714

I hate that with this newer app every time I open it and try to turn on lights it always says network or server disconnected. Every time. Each time I open the app I have to wait until each device says downloading or I have to wait until it asks me to download each device in order to be able to do simple routines. With the oldest version which I still use, I go back and forth between each app, every time I open that the old app the devices refresh instantaneously and I’m able to do simple things like turn the lights on without getting an message or waiting for things to download. I hope this issue gets address.

Not good

804liz

Does not connect to the internet or cell signal to run programs like good morning, come home or to unlock the door. The older app version was fast and smooth. No longer works w the home security system either. Missing the old version

Have had 3 different zigbee hubs, this one is best

I started out with a cheaper hub. It worked but was cumbersome and a bit problematic until it finally stopped working with Alexa. This one works! It has a very good interface. There is a ton of history for when things turn off and on. Schedules are intuitive and work well. Should have purchased this to begin with.

SmartThings has issues

1. No Keypad, no way to have multiple keypads. a. Having a keypad is helpful when the app isn’t working. 2. No way to have your own wallpaper. 3. Motion sensor disconnect. a. Always updating with temperature. b. Can’t go back further than 24 hours in history. c. No way to customize, like omitting temperature updates. d. Looses connection with hub even if it’s 10 feet away. 4. Multipurpose door sensor a. Always updating with temperature. b. Can’t go back further than 24 hours in history. c. No way to customize, like omitting temperature updates. d. The CR2450 batteries go dead at 32% or 7 months. 5. No way to program individual actions between arm & stay. 6. No smartcare in new app. 7. No way to shut off individual Smartlighting automations it’s all or nothing. 8. Honeywell Thermostat lacking functions. a. You have to go back in history to see humidity b. Auto heat and Auto cool are the same thing. c. Changing temperature through the SmartThings app causes a permanent hold on the Thermostat which permanently disengages any schedules you have set through the Honeywell app. d. Custom automation doesn’t work with Thermostat example: if movement detected put at a certain temperature because if this happens it again disengages your set schedule in the Honeywell app and puts the thermostat in permanent hold. 9. If your selling this as a security system it needs to be a security system. 10. “Presents Sensor’s” battery only lasts a month. Goes dead when you need to get into house. “Need that key pad...” 11. I’ve tried to explain these issues to the support team for over a year. They don’t get it and at this point I have to pick my battles with the SmartThings team. 12. This system has the potential to be a great system IF SmartThings would incorporate the old app (that everyone seems to love) and the new app which is lacking in so many ways. 13. SmartThings needs to listen to people that post on this review page better because calling in with these issues obviously doesn’t work. I really don’t understand what the delay is in getting all this taken care of????? Take a page from the Iris by Lowes. There app and functionality made better sense. 14. Takes 28 seconds to fully load app before you can start navigating and disarming or arming the system, etc. There’s got to be a faster way to load this app!!!!! I live in the north and to stand outside for an additional 28 waiting for the app to load is weird, did I mention you should be able to have a keypad........

Super easy to use
