I downloaded the app because the website won’t allow you to open statements on an iPhone (so ridiculous). But guess what, the app redirects you to the website to view statements. So there’s no benefit of using the app.

The app already wasn’t user friendly, now after the update, it’s even worse. Face ID doesn’t work, and I’ve resent my password twice! GET IT RIGHT!!


App does not work with 2 Factor authentication

Using iPhone. Sign in to app sends code to email. I go to my email app to get the code then go back to PennyMac app and it asks to sign in again this sending another code to my email. It is impossible to use an iPhone to sign in fully to this app. Must have second device to get the code because leave this app takes one back to the sign in screen.

Took away FaceID- WHY???

PennyMac, you update the app to this new version, but you didn’t keep the ability to login with FaceID- WHY??? In the app settings, you even kept the toggle to enable FaceID, but apparently it no longer does anything. Others have been posting they can’t make payments in the app?! Seems like your Product & IT people didn’t actually ask customers what features they wanted! Next time do usability studies before making major changes!!! Amateur Hour geez, get it together!!!

SUPER crappy app. Half the time the login credentials don’t even work. If I login in the browser, they work. If I try to login on the app, it says bad credentials ? PennyMac is a joke. Their app is just as awful as their phone system.

Wow, thanks for ruining your app. Might as well delete it and just use the computer, since all this does is redirect me to the website, which oh by the way is terrible on mobile. What’s the point??

Majority of services/functions you’d want to access from this app re-route you to your browser, which then doesn’t support what your trying to do or won’t display properly in a mobile browser.

This latest version of your app is HORRIBLE! I’m also in IT so I thought it might be helpful to provide a list of features that are broken or don’t provide a good customer experience (not that you care apparently because this version clearly wasn’t BETA tested with your customer focus group!): ** used to be able to sign in with facial recognition and can’t now. ** can’t make payment directly in the app. When you click on Make a Payment link it launches the PENNYMAC website and you have to log in AGAIN. If I wanted to use the website to make my payment I wouldn’t have bothered opening the app! ** tried to look at payment history from within the app. 1st attempt resulted in 303 error. 2nd attempt relaunched the PENNYMAC website where again, I was required to login. ** mobile app kept displaying this pop up message about a 2019 policy change whereby mortgage holders are charged a $5 fee when trying to make a payment from the 11th of the month through the 16th. Why is this even being displayed, today’s date is the 20th? I could keep going on & on but I already feel like I’m wasting my time so I’ll stop here. Whoever is in charge of IT Development and in particular, the mobile app, should be fired immediately. There’s just no excuse for turning what used to be a FANTASTIC customer experience to complete useless garbage with just one version “upgrade”. Do better or prepare to lose customers.
