Great app

DoMtDew

Couldn’t live without it! All my more information in one spot! The Mac and windows pieces make it easy to add entries And use Dropbox to sync with my other devices!

Save function doesn’t work!

It doesn’t save when I update the fields. Happened many times. Rather unreliable.

Would like to have the app to be updated to use face recognition. Phones with face recognition are forced to type password in each and every time as fingerprint is no longer an option. I will be looking to replace app if this option available. Bank apps have already updated to this option.

More than a password manager

There are lots of password managers on the market, but DataVault is the only one I’ve researched that is much, much more. While maintaining passwords is important, it also has the capability of documenting EVERYTHING that’s important to you. I have over 300 entries in my Vault including the SS numbers of my children. I am also able to enter comments about conversations I have with vendors to document problems or issues that frequently occur. It’s nice to be able to record the “silly” security questions that many sites ask that can really help avoid having to do password resets because you forgot your answers. I find it a great place to record anything you need to pass on to your children, should you become incapable of addressing day to day online activity.

I have used this app since I carried a Blackberry

I have sync'd my blackberry to three or four different windows laptops, a couple of MacBook Pros and an iPad and iPhone 4s, iPhone 6, and iPhone XS. I have always felt secure, and have had maybe two problems with synchronization getting confused. I maintain 614 separate entries. But the tool is getting a little old. Work IT DEPARTMENT wants me to convert over to 1Password. I can't get used to 1Password's user interface. My impression is that UIs have evolved but DataVault has stayed the same. Nobody here wants to use DataVault. It isn't on the list of approved password managers. I don't get it, but I admit I might be too old and set in my ways to switch. DataVault still does everything I want it to. Face Id on the iPhone Xs is the bees knees! I can have 20 character unpronounceable passwords that need not be memorized - who needs more function than that??

Excellent app - one thing left until perfection

I love this app. I’ve been using it for years primarily on windows and Android products. Apple applications are just as good. One thing I’m asking for - and it’s not your fault. Dropbox has changed their business model and now only allows for 3 connections per “free” account. This has severely impacted me as I don’t have any reason to use Dropbox except to sync my files across devices. Now that I have so much storage across other platforms - Apple cloud, OneDrive, Google, etc...why pay Dropbox $10 monthly for one file just because of the API access? Most of these other platforms now allow similar capabilities. I hope you’re working on other sync options and that they’ll be released soon! Any hints towards a release date? Until then, I’ll be limping along....and hoping for resolution.

Great App!

Love the versatility of the set up options.

Best password manager available

PatHawkins

Having an app for storing passwords is a must and DataVault provides the best option in my opinion. I've used it continuosly for many years now, going back to my days using a BlackBerry. Using iCloud, I can sync with all of my multiple devices to have my passwords handy anywhere, any time. I have used DataVault on BlackBerry, Windows PC, Android, MacBook Air, iPhone, iPad, iPad Pro and Apple Watch. It works seamlessly on all platforms. One purchase buys the product - no subscription required! I prefer keeping my passwords local on my own devices and my own iCloud rather than having them on a developer's server. Anything can be hacked but I feel safer knowing I mainatin access to my passwords even if one system or device is no longer accessible. I can rely on my password database to be available if I urgently need to change paswords. DataVault is perhaps my most used, most reliable app over the course of my mobile computing history. Support is fast and excellent, too.

As a long term user my expectations are not matching

Million Sparks

I have been using DataVault for at least 13 years. I have less than 1,000 records and I am getting data corruption errors with no ability to remedy them other than black box tech support, for which I can’t even tell you if they have responded no less what they have suggested and whether I could understand it and trust it as text information or instructions coming in my inbox. I have 5 active devices that I sync to manually as I could not feel confident even with the help of an Columbia Masters graduate in network security helping me set up the cloud feature. He recommended manual sync. Rather inconvenient in the modern world but without the ability to understand how the sync works in this app it seems like a rational approach. I use the cloud every day and was an early adopter. There is no one to talk with at Ascendo to get help on these important subjects to manage one vital passwords. At this point, I have lost the plot as I have no one but a black box to seek support and answers of which I have no time to track down, remember what the problem I was after and spend another chunk of time explaining. Sound familiar? I am looking for a better way to manage my passwords as black box tech support offerings does not denote trust or nor does it help me build knowledge in an age of microseconds thanks to our Smartphones.
