My three favorite features in Overcast are playlists, Smart Speed(the best silence trimmer out there in the podcast world), and the horizontal swipe menu in the actual player. My only wish would be for a fresh and colorful UI overhaul (akin to Pocket Casts.) If it weren’t for Smart Speed, I would be using Pocket Casts. Great podcast app, but the interface truly does need a new breath of life.

Without a question, Overcast is the best podcast player in the game. It may not have the same ‘original content’ options as Stitcher Premium but that costs money, and if you’re like me you’ll still use Overcast for literally over 99% of the podcasts you listen too. There is nothing better for playing podcasts.

Everything works and the ads are unobtrusive so I'm very pleased

I like several things about this app, but the fact that the "Queue" plays random episodes from the list instead of going down through them in order is bonkers!

After using Apple’s Podcast for years, with release of iOS11 in about 2016, I needed to find an alternative. Apple’s Podcast app became completely unmanageable and worthless for me in iOS 11. That’s when I discovered Overcast, and I couldn’t be happier. With iOS 13 it continues to shine! My says that with the release of iOS 14, Apple’s Podcast app is even worse. He can’t believe that the company that popularized podcast apps has completely trashed their own app. So sad. I love the little touches in Overcast like differentially setting the number of seconds to replay and fast forward, the scroll bar to move back and forth in the episode, the voice enhancement and intelligent speeding up of play by shortening the pauses, and much more. It is both practical and whimsical. One feature it took me a while to figure out was how to save episodes that I wish to return to for future listening and sort them by folders. What I do is to create a new folder and name it for that particular podcast. I then save the episode of that podcast to that folder, and then remove it from my folder of un-listened to episodes. I also clicked the button to keep podcasts until deleted and also I set the limit of episodes per podcast to all. For each podcast I can now save episodes that I wish to return to. I really like the new instant search for new podcasts that was added in January 2019. Thanks to Marco for making it so much fun and intuitive to use.

Simple clean the only thing is is I wish we were able to change the navigation to the right hand side versus only the left
