The best podcast player. period.

I have used Overcast since 2015 and still highly recommend it over any other player out there. The newest update just released just added better voice boost to keep voices you hear smooth and level. Seriously there are lots of ways to customize your podcast listening preferences in Overcast. Just how many apps do you see have a 4.7/5 review rating? Marco Arment the one man shop that keeps this app going cares more about a great audio experience than most normal people and luckily for you Overcast excellences at audio because of this. Besides you get everything for free if you don’t mind some ads. But go premium and support Marco and his expensive coffee addiction.

Overcast has been my podcast app of choice since it was released in 2014. Under constant development during that whole time, many features have been added. Some of those features, like Dark Mode, I knew I wanted and was eager to adopt. Other features, like the new per-podcast intro/outro skipping I never even thought of and didn’t know I craved until I saw them in the release notes! Cross device syncing is nice for those who need it, but also for when I upgrade my device. A great app made with love. Overcast represents the best of what an iOS app can be.
Unusable on an iPhone 6 anymore = /

Great podcast player, used it for years - ever since the native app started acting up. With the new update, however, things went from slooow to skipping audio on my old iPhone 6 - it doesn’t happen only if Overcast is freahly launched and also the only (1) app running. If not, hello skipping = / I understand my phone is old but...still would have been nice to be able to use Overcast.

Overcast has always had the best audio quality, and now it got even better. But I really love the ability to skip over intros or outroswhicj is new in this version. Top podcast app for sure.

I’ve used numerous podcast apps through the years but have always come back to OverCast for their genius player controls & options. The simple choice of being able to reduce/remove “quiet time” when the podcasters have long drawn out pauses was enough to bring me back.

After relying on the pre-installed Apple podcast app for a while, it was time to shop for a high quality third-party app. I have used Instapaper since it was released so a podcast listening app from Marco Arment was a natural choice. The app does everything it should and well but Voice Boost 2 is terrific and the ability to speed up the audio is a huge benefit. Many of the podcasts I listen are primarily lectures on music (opera) and history so listening to an hour lecture at 1.5 speed with gaps of silence removed saves me hours a week.
