The captcha isn't working I can't repor a leaking fire hydrant. The city should step up and fix the app ASAP. As NYERs we need to help out the city in any way possible.

NYC 311 is a solid a government assistance application that allows NYC residents or just any user to look up helpful daily information regarding the city as well as send feedback. The design is basic with a simple pop up left menu navigation point that allows you to navigate the sections. The app is a bit hard on the eyes being non retina and designed for the iPhone but it is still easy enough to read and use. Users can look up various NYC non emergency information such as parking rules, where to vote, homeless concerns and more. Users can also check for alerts in the alerts section. While it could be more comprehensive representing a city such as New York it's a solid start.
I can't find the "do not accept" option?! Is this an offer I can't refuse?

The app seams to be attractive but if you are a careful person about your daily cautious compliance you would notice that even before trying the app you are already scared away from the "accept" page... There is not a "do not accept" option to than cancel the install. That would be the minimum respect for the helpful citizen trying to appropriately use the app. So "no thank you". If the developer is paid with tax money than... I'll try to visit this app later hoping that this feedback will be appreciated and taken seriously.
Essential app for New Yorkers

A great app for checking things like Alternate Street Parking schedules, if there is a snow day, and even accessing the Snow Plow Tracker. You can also report broken parking meters and other dangerous situations that need attention. You can also request for homeless people. Ticket status is updated for you to see within the app. You're generally not going to see very personalized responses, and the speed of responses will vary depending on the ticket agency. I don't expect miracles, but it is good to know that I can report issues for the city to review. Overall, I'm glad I have this app. You should have it, too! Don't just complain about a broken pedestrian crossing sign, report it!

No option to make a complaint about sidewalks not cleared of snow or ice? Complaints never get logged. What is the point?

I’ve tried to register a complaint for the past two days. I keep receiving a ‘Submission Error. Try again later’ message. Very disappointed!
