OMG Lifesaver!

HJGarrett

I’ve always been hesitant to pay for an app. Anything more than $3.00 seems high to me. I was in a pinch, needing something that I could install, and 10 seconds later, be using to snap photos of a PowerPoint presentation and still takes notes with the photo off an EKG instructor who talks way faster than I can write! I took a star off because I can’t figure out a way to crop extra space off a photo that I take inside the app to make more room in the same page for notes. Regardless, well worth the money! I totally was the envy of every student by the end of class!

Is Almost a Functional App

The app is nice, it would be perfect if it worked as intended, but it’s bogged down with glitches. When trying to change and rename a downloaded file such as a pdf it often takes more then one attempt for it to work. Clicking edit, rename, and then typing a new name in the field works fine, but when you go to submit the name the button doesn’t register and often you have to close out and try again.

Great, but not perfect.

As I had started saying it is a very well thought out applications that does many extra things really really well however the pen, essential use of this writing app, tool isn't all that great. There is a lag between pen and its strokes on the page even when using the apple pencil. This is something that is essential yet not perfected in this app. If this was managed, I would personally give this app a five star rating and use it as my sole writing tool.

Outstanding Note Taking App

I attend several different meetings and need to review the notes I took the last time we met. This app prevents me from having to maintain and keep up with several different notebooks. Everything is organized and in one app. Don't know how I functioned without Notes Plus.

The Best

The Best note App in iOS...

Good Intention and concept but poor performance

NoteMeUp

I certainly agree with other reviewers, the app has good intention and purpose to transcribe handwriting into text, I, myself, solely purchased the app for this purpose as well just like the others but I must admit that the Application needs to be improved, It has POOR, REALLY POOR HANDWRITING RECOGNITION! no matter how much I tried to improve my writing for it to recognize and properly convert it to text, It just won’t do it! Pls. fix this issue or else purchasing the app for this purpose would be totally useless! I purchased the App to help me convert my handwriting to text even though I do not have that bad penmanship but for lecture taking and note taking where I need to be fast and cannot access my keyboard that’s why I need it! I want to give this app a chance and I hope the developer will improve the handwriting recognition so I won’t have to write and erase over and over again just for it to convert my writing to correct text!

Recover pages option

Giga-Mind

The app works great in taking notes and I have been using it for several years, however t would be great if there was a way to recover pages that are deleted by accident. I had the pages thumbnails displayed and I accidentally swiped left and one whole page of notes got deleted with no way to recover it. Frustrating and annoying. Please add this feature.

Most beautiful hand writing, least reliable app, no real commitment to fix!

First: DO NOT INSERT A PAGE IN THE MIDDLE OF YOUR NOTEBOOK. YOU MAY CORRUPT YOUR NOTEBOOK! You can find out bellow what I wrote before recent update. I regret to inform you all the issues still persist. After the new update, I thought they are seriously trying to fix the issues. I tried it again. I lost several pages of my notes, only because I inserted a few pages in between. The voice I records get disassociated from the text. The issue of using Apple Pencil is still there. These are the major ones in my opinion, especially disappearance of pages. There are plenty other which some are mentioned by others. The worst things is that despite of all of these complains about the issues, instead of getting everybody's help, for instance mentioning it in their website, and sending an email to their customer, and requesting to email send them a corrupted note, so they can find the bugs, they upload a bogus update, and fool everybody to corrupt more of their notes. It is very sad! Once it was the best note taking app. Pros: compared to the other apps it has several futures which none of other apps has: 1. Most beautiful handwriting. Specially the viscosity future of the fountain pen is awesome. 2. Multiple clipboard entries which help you a lot in scientific or lecture writing experience. Imagine writing a highly mathematical notes. You can copy several master equations in your clipboard and copy them and then do some minor changes. 3. The primitive shapes and arrows help you to create good graphs. 4. Adding name to each page help you to find a particular part of your notes easily. CONS (Glitch all over the place!): 1. The support of Apple Pencil is not very good. Some of your tiny writing disappear. 2. Inserting a page corrupts a page after that, so you end up loosing a page if you decided to add a page in the middle of a notebook. 3. Voice recording is basically fake. It only keeps the voice while your app is still open, As soon as you close the app the voices disappear. 4. There are other glitches in other functionalities as well. Sometimes the app stops recording your writing. The lasso selection sometimes does not work. The first three, especially second and third one are deal breaker for me. Loosing pages and recorded voice mean I cannot rely on the app in any way. The worst thing is that if you look at their website noting is mentioned about such egregious errors. No timeline to fix them. In the last update for iOS 10, they only mentioned they fixed bugs, but I could not find any of these got fixed after many months, while they were aware of these bugs for a long time. This means either the app was made in such a mishmash way, they don't know how to fix it, or they don't have enough manpower to do that. Such a pity! Apps like Microsoft notes are ugly to use, but you feel, they at least fixed horrible bugs such as these quickly. I am going to move to Noteshelf. Hopefully they would listen more often.

One of my all-time favorite apps

I was doing some handwriting in other note/doodle/drawing apps, and I realized that if I wanted to do some serious handwritten journaling, I would need something that could advance the page for me without having to two-finger drag after every other word. I didn't really expect to find exactly what I was looking for, but this is exactly what I was looking for! It is so cool. I kept a handwritten journal for 15 years but I stopped a few years ago because I have been typing my thoughts into Evernote instead. But I missed the therapeutic effect of seeing my handwriting flow onto the page, and being able to doodle. Now I can have it all. The only issues I've had are minor: if I write a long word in cursive, I have to drag the window backwards and dot the i's and cross the t's because the window has already advanced. (I don't even know how that issue would be fixed. I'm just comparing it to writing with pen and paper. It's a slight annoyance but worth it to have all my writing digitized.) And I wish the dot that I make for periods and for dotting i's showed up a little bigger. It's hard to see. Thank you for making this app!

Best note taking app, but can improve

Tjaart@

One of the best note taking apps I have used. I use it with the Ipad Pro 2nd gen and apple pencil. I am a current University student and use this app on a daily basis, it being my primary means of taking notes. Not having to carry around numerous books, having everything in one place. I also like the various features accompanying this app. Like having multiple pen colors available as well as the highlight feature. However, sometimes text will disappear even though the “deletion gesture” feature is turned off and sometimes when using eraser not all the text will erase and remains on screen until scrolling the page at which time it disappears. Would like to have a “pencil” available for drawing when needed, like graphing. Still the best app for taking notes.
