Great app for handwriting but has hiccups

I use this app daily both at work and school. It is the perfect companion for the Ipad with Apple Pencil. It has many pro’s to the handwriting experience and have preferred this app to many others (goodnotes, metamoji, Notes, ect.) Good job building the app. Nevertheless, I have to bring up the fact that lately the app is losing its credibility. I have had various features that have broken on me. When I got the app, getting files from dropbox was readily available. A while back, I could no longer reach dropbox through the app (had to find an alternative way to import files into the app). I cannot export recordings without having to disable icloud backup when transferring the files to my computer. Recently adding pages to a pdf, corrupts the files and all marks get shifted and messes the whole file. When renaming files, it gets messed up and shuts down. As you may expect, I’ve spent a bit of time having to find alternatives to these problems. I’ve sent request through their help service and have not gotten many responses to my requests. Hopefully this is not a negative trend team. The app is a great product, but I hope the team gets on the ball with all of these required bug fixes.

Response to Developer I'm wondering when Apple is going to address the clip board issue and provide us with native built-in clipboard support for clearing sensitive clipboard entries. It needs to be addressed. This App will show you just how urgent the issue is. If you were to inocently Pass someone your phone or tablet for a minute or two By openning this app or similar app they could send themselves a screen shot of all the entries on your clipboard in a matter of seconds. Obviously that could compromise banking , email and other passwords or sensitive information. Previously I wrote When you open this app it reads , displays and makes available everything you have copied to your clipboard since you last powered your device down. If you use a password manager and copy potentially exploitable business and banking passwords to your clipboard this app will have free access to log them every time you open the app. This is a 'Big Time Security Breach' ! I un-installed and will not use the app because I find it offensive and a security breach that ios grants these rights to an app. I highly recommend you use a clipboard security tool such as Clearboard to overwrite sensitive data on your clipboard once it has served its purpose. BEFORE you open this App.
Great function thru simplicity

Don’t often give reviews but thought this app deserved one. I’m a structural engineer trying to go paperless. To do that I need to be able to redline PDFs, generate hand calculations and take notes during job site visits and meeting. This app has been able to do just that and more through its simplicity. I have the IPad Pro 12.9 with the Apple Pencil and it works great. With this pairing I have not had any issues with my palm leaving marks, slow pencil response or any of the other problems I read in previous reviews. Newer app version, hardware configuration, irish luck... no idea but it works great. I’ve emailed the developer a number of times and he has been very responsive. Surprisingly so. The recent update fixed the Dropbox issue another reviewer mentioned. I also had those issues and spent a lot of time trying to figure out how to push files back and forth from my pad to computer until that bug could be addressed. Seems to work fine now. I’ll give the app 5 stars when he adds being able to use your own paper back ground. All my calcs and hand sketches need to be on my personal paper with my company logo. I’ve imported a pdf of the same and it works for now but only the first page of the notebook is my background and the rest are the from the app standards. I have to copy and save each page to a separate notebook. Cumbersome. My goal is to be able to have one notebook for the entire calculation submittal package that can be easily edited. Until then I have to export each page to my computer and combine them there in adobe. Pros: 1.) very intuitive and easy to just pick up and use. I recommend reading the manual and tutorials though as there are lots of nice functions you wouldn’t think about. 2.) lots of functionality to adjust pen colors, weights and types. 3.) For me, a very responsive developer so far. 4.) importing pictures, PDF’s and web pages to write on is a snap and very useful. Cons: 1.) Can’t use your own paper background. 2.). The close up writing tool can sometimes just pop up seemingly at random while drawing a “heavy dot in a sketch for rebar” which has to be closed. I think you can modify the pen movements to fix this but haven’t figured it out yet. 3.). Would be nice to be able to adjust the paper background after you have already created the notebook so you could gave a combination of calc pad and graph paper for example. Good app. Worth the money.

I like the idea of this program and much of it works relatively as you would expect. However, I like to combine text with writing and the text part of the program is glitchy causing me to save, quit and restart often in one writing session. A few suggestions I hope get fixed SOON: when selecting a location to type in the T mode, the pages automatically scroll up, up, up, up every time and don’t select where I am touching. Weird and super frustrating. Also, when you select to delete a page, which the app creates blank pages seemingly randomly as you type or move text/notes, the app says you can’t. Undo this option but it doesn’t confirm the page you want to delete, so you just cross your fingers the right page gets deleted. Some times the text pages don’t have borders or are zoomed in randomly while other pages are the opposite, and as you scroll your work appears to have disappeared, then slowly reappears on the page. Hope you wait to make sure the page isn’t blank and then delete it! Lastly, if use return to move a section of text, the app will spread that section over multiple pages, often leaving just a few words on a few pages with the rest of the words on a few more pages. What?! Lastly, there is not option to save your document as one document. Instead, it is saved and exported with each page being a separate document. Why in the...?! Please fix these things, makers of Notes Plus!

I wrote 5 pages of review for my test tomorrow and the next second i exit out of the notebook 5 pages of my notes are gone. what on earth am i going to do the exam is tomorrow!! Im really disappointed. I didnt pay money for it to have data go missing! This happened multiple times already and the data often goes corrupt. If you do get this app manually export the files and safe them somewhere safe ALL the time!
Best writing app out there

Having tried a half dozen writing apps I stumbled across notes plus. That was four years ago and I haven't bothered with anything else since. I recommend this app to everyone who asks what I am using for note taking. Renders handwriting beautifully and is a pleasure to use. Support for the occasional glitches has been quick, efficient and spot on. Love this app

Every note taking app out there has something unique to it that the other ones don't. Apparently, these guys took all of those unique things and dumped them into this application. In other words, it has everything you could want...well, except its not free.
