Lack of Automatic Evernote Backup Makes This App Less Useful

BenjPhoto

This app is almost perfect. It is far more capable than Evernote’s own Penultimate app. It has better page styles. I like the way the “ink” flows better. I like the ability to add shapes for drawings and hand drawing is also better. If only I could set it up to automagically backup new notes to Evernote. Evernote I’d my brain. It is essential to me (and to many others). If I have to choose, Evernote will win out every time. If Notes Plus auto-saved to Evernote notebooks I would completely switch over and drop Penultimate like a hot piece of metal. I suppose I could hope that Evernote will bring Penultimate up to the capabilities I find in Notes Plus, but that’s climbing Everest compared to the ease of adding more Evernote integration to Notes Plus. I think this one enhancement would push Note Plus into the fore, ahead of oft mentioned Good Notes and Notability. And yes, I do realize I can export notes to Evernote but that’s not automatic.

DEVELOPERS PLEASE READ...

I love this app. I use it every day (both work and personal)! I only have 2 suggestions. 1) the handwriting to text could really be improved. I don’t feel like it converts the greatest (to your credit...I have horrible handwriting!), but any improvements to this would be great! 2) I really would like to be able to custom create the colors for the covers. Couldn’t you just make this blank and allow us to pick a color? This would help me organize so much better!

Best Note Taking App on the iPad

TechNTools

I’ve tested many note taking apps using the Apple Pencil. Notes Plus is the best by far. Love the notebooks, writing tools and export capabilities. Check it out!

This is my go-to app

I use this app everyday. Everything is designed to make your note-taking simpler. I use this to take daily notes, to journal, and use it is a scratch pad for conversation (and you can send your brain storming partners a pdf) The test recognition feature works well and I like being able to search all my documents for words. Requests for help have been replied to quickly and thoroughly.

Can't wait to try out

Best notes / writing /journaling app of them all

Joel D. Arnold

I’ve tried all kinds of notes and journaling apps. This is the one to get. Combined with the Apple Pencil, it’s just like writing on paper except better. Here are the features that make this uniquely awesome. 1. Great inks and pens. I love using the fountain pen and I find that my handwriting has significantly improved by using this app. 2. Very simple, unobtrusive interface. It just works. I don’t get distracted or fight with the software. It just works for me. Every time. 3. Handwriting recognition. This is the killer feature. Others will recognize and let you search your notes. But this is the only good app that lets you quickly and easily export the text you have written. Most of the time I’m happy to keep it as handwriting. But a reasonable amount of the time I later want to build on my notes in a traditional word processor. One click and it’s there. Excellent accuracy as well. 4. Fantastic support. I just had a small problem. I emailed the developer and had an answer within 8 hours that totally fixed my problem. Done. You just don’t get that with other apps. So buy this app. Simple. That’s it.

CHANGE YOUR BEHAVIOR AND LOVE IT

Blackaye!

I read many of the comments and realized that some of the commentators were attempting to use Notes Plus like they would a note book. There’s nothing to stop you doing that for sure, but if you are prepared to take 5 or 10 minutes each day for the first few days of using this app the instructions and listen to the videos, you’ll likely repeat the experience I had and start to change your behavior to use the apps real power and functionality. For example, if your hard writing is poor (like mine) then don’t expect the app to perform magic and read your handwriting when no one else can! Change your behavior to use Apple speech to text or simply type a keyword to the start of your handwritten text so that you can search for that subject later. The same is true of lots of other features. It is a new app and yes it’s not perfect, but for the first time in over 20 years (I started with the Apple Newton!) I have found a really great symbolic relationship a between my iPad (Pro) Notes Plus and me.... FINALLY I HAVE STOPPED CARRYING MULTIPLE NOTEBOOKS and since Im a prolific note taker... this is a big change for me.

Lovely for handwriting but frustrating

Partho PC

It does a really good job of recreating the character and individuality of handwriting with a fountain pen for the iPad Pro with the Apple Pencil, but unfortunately, at 0.3 to 0.5 viscosity, at which range one gets the lovely thin-and-thick lines one wants from a fountain pen, it is very hard to write periods or the dots above ‘i’s and ‘j’s. For some reason, the circle keeps disappearing. I have removed both the delete gestures in the App Settings but the dots keep disappearing and are very hard to write. Please fix.

Ouch

I used this late last year for quite a few important business note taking. The sync issues are SERIOUS issues. I lost SO MANY notes because of that. Some of those notes were invaluable. I understand technology has it setbacks, but I’ve never had an issue like this with Notability. I’ll stick with them instead.

Great but please fix the shared note view
