Censorship like every other App

Only those with the “correct” political opinions are allowed to speak freely, everyone else gets censored.

Full of ads and bias

Sitthetrot

Nextdoor is, without a doubt, the worst social media network I’ve ever used. Including those that I’ve tried, then didn’t like enough to keep using. Nextdoor does, technically, do its job of connecting you with your neighbors, but it’s at the cost of ads galore, long load times, glitches, and biased moderation. Not to mention the concerning amount of data being collected on users, according to the App Privacy details below this Reviews section. Nextdoor has even removed users’ ability to choose not to see certain ads they don’t like, which makes the ad density all the more tiring. Another irritating feature is that your newsfeed is, by default, sorted by recent activity. If you reset it to sort by recent posts, it’ll sometimes still show you posts in order of recent activity, and will totally reset back to “recent activity” after a certain amount of time. It feels like users ultimately have no power to control their experience on the app, which is what led me to delete my account the first time.

Removed the Neighborhood Map

They removed the neighborhood map and now you can no longer see the actual homes/addresses. This was so helpful in contacting neighbors without that map you there is no longer any need to use the app just join your neighborhood Facebook group which has all the same things. The map made this app special. To bad this change ruined a cool app. Also they changed the Algorithm a while ago so you see what they consider the top posts instead of most recent. So now your neighbors never see your posts. If you go to setting a pick see most recent it will tel you it will only keep your setting for 60 days. Most my neighbors were complaining they don’t see a lot of posts when I told them to go to settings they are older and said it’s to much and to have to redo it every 60 days is dumb. They went from a great app that showed most recent to a Facebook type algorithm that most neighbors hate but don’t know how to fix. Last they removed the security to get an account it used to be they mailed you a code but now random people that don’t live in your neighborhood can get accounts. Not sure why they did away with the security to get an account but now you have people on the app that don’t live in your neighborhood and with the neighborhood map gone your can’t see 10 people at one house to report the scam accounts.

No customer service support

VERY upset w/upgrade crash

I moved and have been trying to update my location and use the app. It refused password changes for a while, It would not verify me, it will not let me have access to ANY posts in area when I changed my neighborhood and upon following the postcard route, it put me back in my old neighborhood. So I have access to a neighborhood I no longer live in. there’s is Nothing listed on how to get any type of help in the matter, no customer service. This is ridiculous. I’ve been trying to get this to work for a few weeks. I would appreciate some help

2/9/22 WHY did you remove the Agree (1+) reaction emoji??? What did this “improve”?????? PLEASE put it back! Great the birthday hat - but totally something different than what you took away! This was NOT an improvement!

Horrible App - tracks everything you do

Squeakers007

Two things to be aware of: first, the app closely tracks you and your activity. Serious privacy concerns. Worse is the dissenting police. If you say anything against the insane liberal ideology you are kicked off. I highlighted a fraud attempt (theft) and I was kicked off. Absolutely insane

Do not think for a second that you are able to exercise your right to free speech on this platform.

You can’t even have real conversations because the sheep get upset! And the Masters rule just like twitdur and flakebuk and then they silently tap your mouth shut. Lol Pretty sure it’s a ChinaRuled&Regulated. Just so ya know!!! Friendly email reply after trying to get my account be deleted. “We have reviewed your request to delete the personal information we have collected from you. Unfortunately, because your account was suspended (either currently or in the past), we are unable to comply with your request for deletion of your personal information, “ Lol, yeah… and if that isn’t enough to make you scream commiefornia!!!! Then there’s this!!! ”In addition, if you would like to opt-out of the sale of your personal information, we direct you to our opt-out of sale page at.. there’s a link! Don’t worry you get it sent to you!

RACIST COMPANY

DvsCharmz

My real legal name doesn’t fit their standards so after 5 emails 1st contact to customer support was made in OCtober 2021. It is now February 2022. ***5 emails to customer support, The only response I get is “your ticket has expired, if u still need help please contact us via email” it’s a never ending loop. Why make it an absolute that users must use their real name yet close accounts because they don’t meet *YOUR criteria of what a real name should be? Isn’t it a bit unsafe to use real names anyway? It’s not like we are allowed to use nicknames for display. You guys make that public along with (practically) my address by putting my neighbors house on the map as mine. Not cool. So I opened another account with the name “sally smith” and THAT account is still active. Go figure! Deleting this app. Your “requirements” are racist.
