Full of ads and bias – Nextdoor: Neighborhood Network Review

Nextdoor is, without a doubt, the worst social media network I’ve ever used. Including those that I’ve tried, then didn’t like enough to keep using. Nextdoor does, technically, do its job of connecting you with your neighbors, but it’s at the cost of ads galore, long load times, glitches, and biased moderation. Not to mention the concerning amount of data being collected on users, according to the App Privacy details below this Reviews section. Nextdoor has even removed users’ ability to choose not to see certain ads they don’t like, which makes the ad density all the more tiring. Another irritating feature is that your newsfeed is, by default, sorted by recent activity. If you reset it to sort by recent posts, it’ll sometimes still show you posts in order of recent activity, and will totally reset back to “recent activity” after a certain amount of time. It feels like users ultimately have no power to control their experience on the app, which is what led me to delete my account the first time.
