App registration usability

Inappropriate Ads

Needs 1 quick usability fix: while registering my device with the app both password fields were covered by the keyboard on my iPhone 5s so that I couldn’t see them as I typed them in. Add some white space or something beneath the fields so that the screen can be scrolled up when entering these fields. Also please consider using MFA instead of a 4 digit pin/access code.

Simple app, flawed

NWOhioDave

This app doesn’t do much. It allows you to create logs of your irregular heart rhythms, and to review them after they’re logged. The only other thing it does is to channel messages to you from Zio. The messages show up truncated, so the natural reaction is to tap on them to open them up. Wrong! Tapping on them deletes them forever. No chance to find out what was in the whole message. As long as this app has been around you’d think they would fix this.

App Only Allows 100 presses

Jazzee52

I have been wearing the Zio patch for 8 days. I reached 100 presses by the 4th day. It's unclear why they would program the app to stop at 100 presses. It would be quite common for people who are having health issues with A-Fib to have more than 100 irregular heart beats in 2 weeks. Customer service stated they left me messages but no messages left, even after verifying my phone number. Three times I left a message with no return call. Not happy with this company at all. I would not wear their patch again.

I’m, HIPAA violation anyone?

Dude0u812

Not sure if it’s a strict HIPAA violation, but this private company wants me to share my name, birthdate, phone number and more just to use this log on my phone. Also I need to agree to their “privacy policy” which I’m sure is about as airtight as Facebook’s best scams. Jeez. I just put a piece of paper in my wallet, may just take notes in Notepad. No need for more privacy destroying apps on my personal phone, thank you very much.

Less than zero

First 20 hours were a nightmare. Surprised that grief with the app didn’t cause a cardiac event in itself (I’m very tech-savvy). Had to call the manufacture five times, and my cardio provider twice. Thank you, Xanax. Very nice customer service people! But two out of three had telephone headsets that didn’t work - and they were aware of it! 90% frustrating static and unintelligible, so I had to keep calling back. Very poor app development for such a vital healthcare tool. Registering the app is nearly impossible! Deleting and reinstalling the app doesn’t help. One registration error and you’re locked out for another day. Once you remove the patch, all your info will go to the company (so complaints could be redacted) not your doctor, so there’s one more weak link in the chain. Also, any cardiac events are stored on a chip in the device, as opposed to transmitted wirelessly. Therefore, they will only find out about your heart attack when they analyze the data on the device around the time of your funeral. Yes, friendlier hardware than the Holter monitor, but falls far short in medical value. With all the one-star reviews, it’s amazing that the average number of stars shown is 2.8 out of 5!

My Zio XT app is okay.

I had no trouble registering my device via the app. I do wish the device numbers that are required to register it were easier to find as opposed to one sticker on the box (assuming you kept the box). Also, I received a few messages through the app’s message center for reminders and such, but if I wanted to read a message in full, you have to tap “READ MORE” and not on the message itself. By tapping the message itself, you unknowingly delete the message and have no way to recover it. I hope they weren’t important! I think I read two of the several I received because of this flaw. In my opinion, you should either have to swipe the message to delete it or a ‘hold and select’ option to delete the message. Logging in my symptoms was easy. Being able to edit any logs was simple, too. To my knowledge, this monitor is used to detect any irregular heart beats, not necessarily if you have a heart attack. I believe it did the job for what I needed the two weeks that I had to wear it. My one big complaint is the message center, other than that, it’s a decent app.

It would be really helpful if the device app would give a signal when an event is occurring (symptoms or non contact event)so an event could be properly recorded. I was not sure if the device was properly recording after it was reattached. A confirmation by app message would be reassuring. Attachment of device needs improvement. It is not sufficient for a person who has a daily physical routine. Additional type was needed to secure device after the 4th day.

Convenient app, easy to record

RuddyInsGirls

I have had to wear several different monitors over the past few years. When I was told I need to wear another device I was less than thrilled. I have always disliked having to have wires and the irritation of the sticky adhesive pads. With this Zio device I was pleased, no wires! It’s easily concealed. Having to only press the bottom to alert to symptoms. I found this app very easy to use. It’s made it very convenient to keep a log of exact times, activities, and symptoms that occurred. In my experience I found the app more accurate and definitely more convenient than using the log book.

Only AM time is real apparently

premed no longer

It’s 12:23PM want to log something that started at 12:08 PM..... Aaaand nope, the moment you change the minute, the dial on the far right turns to AM. After that you can’t submit any time as PM because the Done button deactivates. Somehow, I doubt this is going to help my doctor if you log times in the AM instead. They literally are a full 12 hours difference!!! Absurd.
