MyQ Would be great if it always worked

But sometimes, it says the door is open when it’s actually closed and vice versa other times. So, I’m sort of happy with it. And I’m sort of not.

I like the fact that I can control my garage door while I’m away from the house, it makes it easy for friends and family to pick up items left in the garage without having to give out the keypad code.
Slow and unreliable in iOS 14

Slow to open and slow to authenticate. Even more annoying, since upgrading to iOS 14, the app constantly becomes unresponsive. If you close the garage door and leave the house, when you arrive back and open the app, the status indicator will just keep spinning and spinning and never update itself to allow you to open the garage door. The only solution is to force close the app and reopen it. This app has one job... open and close a door. This can’t be that hard to program, but somehow MyQ has found a way to do a subpar job.

But it fails to connect about half the time. We’ve read all the docs, reinstalled everything, checked reception distance and requested tech support. It’s just not a solid app/hardware system.

I’m in my driveway and it keeps on searching and searching for a signal, but prior to installation the signal was great and it closed and open my garage door with no wait time...

Honestly, for an app with literally one function, this is the most horrific user experience I can imagine. It simply doesn’t work over 50% of the time, and I have to close the app and reopen the app to have any chance of it working. It is the most frustrating user experience for an app with one single button. Even when it does work, the Haptic Touch is unreliable. I’ve been using it for four months, this is not a little blip, but rather my daily experience. I could never, in good conscience, recommend this app/product to someone else. I have plenty of other smart/connected home apps and none are anywhere near as problematic as this one.

I’ve been using this app for about 6 months and when it works it’s great. I’ve had several instances where it just doesn’t respond, wifi ok, just won’t take my sceen touch. Starts working after I’ve manually operated the door. Very frustrating, can’t count on it working.

This is the greatest application for some peace of mind. After you have left home, did you ever question whether you closed the garage door? This easily generated app will tell you if it is open or closed. Also, you can open or close the door with this . Bill F. Menomonee Falls, WI
