It's nowhere near ONSTAR

spyingeyes

This is our first Hyundai. I've owned Chevy cars for years and love the ONSTAR app. I do not love the Hyundai app. When I remote start my Camaro with the ONSTAR app, the hazard lights don't come on. They do come on with the Hyundai app. It's the stupidest thing I've seen. Why would I want to remote start my vehicle from somewhere that I don't have a view of it and have the hazard lights come on to attract attention to an unmonitored, running vehicle? So dumb. I love our new Hyundai but this app really misses the mark. I definitely won't pay the fees Hyundai wants for this app subscription after the free trial is over. It has potential and obviously the technology is there to make it good, but apparently Hyundai is choosing not to do that. There's a lot to be said for keeping your customers satisfied. Very disappointing!

Terrible experience

MLB I live for it!

We bought a 2018 Sonata 2 weeks ago and I still can't get the app to work at all. I get nothing but error messages for every command. I called support last week. The agent was polite but couldn't fix the issue. She opened a support ticket and I haven't heard a peep out of them for over a week. Incredibly disappointing...

Not fully functional

Blue&Brutus

I cant schedule service, I can't open the owners manual anything other than turning on and off the car and the car horn I cannot do. I see the price that people are being charged for this, I'll just have remote start put my car and call it a day.

So much work needed, annoying password request

Dzmarko

Functions great! Never has failed to turn on my Tucson. Now, my low rating is all due to user experience. This app requires a password to login (which could be saved) and another to start the car. This is extremely excessive, especially on the Apple Watch where it's hard to type. And there needs to be a complication for the face of the Apple Watch to make this really useful. Maybe even Siri integration. #1 tip: get rid of the 4-digit passcode or allow user to turn it off at their own risk. #2 tip: add an Apple Watch complication for easy access. #3 tip: not sure if the app activates this or if the car activates this upon start, but the turn signals flashing are not very tasteful and can be a safety hazard. Instead, turn the accent lights on! The flashing lights is like a beacon to get mugged or draws attention to security guards. A security guard was waiting at my car once assuming there was an issue. #4 tip: Again, this is most likely dependent on the capability of the car, but a great feature would be the ability to activate the seat warmers. Many times the 10 min is not enough for the heat to kick in (I live in MI), would be nice to have the seat warmers on when you get in. I hope the team takes this into consideration! _______ Update: No improvement since Jan. What is the Hyundai Dev team doing!? Please review my tips. Additionally, I see many other comments with the same recommendations.

Updates have cause problems

I used to use this app to quickly and easily schedule my oil changes. Now it won't let me. It tells me to choose a dealer and then says "your vehicle does not support this feature." So basically this app is a user manual because it won't let me do anything else. Useless really.

Works very well

My only gripe is to raise the maximum time limit of 10 minutes for remote starts. Please change it to 20 or 15 min

I want to live this

Mathgirl91

Every time I try to play a how to video this crashes. I also would like the option to have my car run longer than 10 minutes. This is not enough time to warm up and defrost the car in the winter.

Beam me up Scotty

For what I need this app is great! There is a delay in the time communications to The satellite and back to my car. It starts the car, cools the car to my temperature request. Located the car app is very simple circular pattern with big icons. If I was being picky I would like a history showing car location especially my car is at the shop or in someone else’s hands. As for technology it’s pretty D,,, awesome!

Works about 10%

The app hardly ever works. When I try to lock my doors or just check the status of my car, I get an error. I have to delete the app & reinstall. Please fix!!

One star because half star not available

99% of the time I get “server busy” message. Refresh does not work...have to quit the app and restart it to refresh. They charge for this service by the way...not like it’s a free app that does not matter. Hyundai could do so much with this technology but they have not been able to get out of the gate.
