Need improvement

juniortsf

It’s a nice concept for their cameras but there are so many problems with the app: It takes hours to log in to the home screen, even on wifi, The local camera screen is broken on my devices and lastly not at options for the cameras are present on this app but they’re available with PC software.

Very easy to set up.

I bought this for my son in college. He is going to college and lives off campus in a house. He was complaining someone was going into his room taking his stuff. So I got the Dlink camera well he hid the camera in his room, and bingo he caught the person. Case solve.

How about supporting older devices?

C141medic

It’s great that Dlink has a new smart home app. But how about supporting older devices like the WSP110? Apparently the older Dlink app has stopped support as well because it’s not working properly. Cmon Dlink, support your loyal customers and get your apps working properly.

App needs a few enhancements

sdh42

If the camera is mounted to the wall it hard to position it remotely , the app needs to have setti for how the camera is mounted i.e. up righr or direct to the wall. Then it sould be 5 plus stats!

Forget D-Link

Bigdog401

D-Link is by far not the best solution. Cameras constantly lose the wi-fi connection and do not re-sync for hours or days. I have over 10 cameras, and typically only 2 or 3 are connecting, requiring me to unplug the others and reboot them. My cameras were purchased at different times, and apparently they sell cameras (through Amazon) which they no longer support technically. I purchased the last camera and also signed up for one year of cloud recording for up to 10 cameras. A cost of $100. I have been able to get only the one last camera I purchased to actually record to their cloud. I wrote to tech support, never got a response. Wrote again a week later, and after a few days, received a very terse response that my cameras are outdated and no longer supported. Several of them were only purchased 2-3 months ago. I went as far has going into the software setup and have all the cameras reboot their software once per day. Still didn’t fix the problems. So I have the majority of my system not working consistently, and only one recording to the cloud for a $100 subscription. I have not even started to mention how difficult and time consuming it is to turn motion recording on and off. So avoid this brand. I have since purchased a Blink system from Amazon to complement my DLink system, and Blink works like a charm.

Unreliable Garbage

dfeivelson

Can never go back to the app to view video feeds... always have to force quit and reopen app to get it to work. Now just recently I can’t even view my camera feeds... this app has been and still is complete trash. Unacceptable.

Slow and no flip option

aq1964

The app is very slow. There isn’t a button to flip the image ( it’s only available on the website )

Great easy to use camera

Aem4363

I love the 8525 camera! They are simple to install and have great quality pictures. The new My Dlink app is way more complicated to navigate than the old app. Panning and moving the cameras is very difficult and ends up with the camera at weird angles trying to figure out how to get the picture you want. Adding new camera is simple in the new app.

Time for two-factor authentication

MDK1705

When can I secure my cameras even better with two-factor authentication? I could not find anywhere in the app to do it. Do I need to log in on a computer or is this not yet available?

Doesn’t work off of WiFi

Bayrosa

I can check this app 24/7 .... if I don’t leave my house. I think that sort of defeats the purpose sometimes especially when I’m out in public and want to make sure my pets haven’t destroyed anything and just making sure no ones there in general. It works great other than just when I’m using my data.
