The cameras are not worth the money.

The apps are ridiculous, they work when they want to. In order to view any footage, while you were away from home you need to buy a dvr, D link of course. They are a glorified webcam.

Old devices

Please support old devices: dch-z110 dch-z120 dch-G020 DSP-w215 dcs-8200LH. MydlinkHome app is very poor and without support and new update. It is not fair you doesn’t support your old devices.

More functionality but tries too hard

The login takes a little longer, probably because of all the added functionality for additional devices. It might seem a little busy for those with only cameras. The video for each camera load faster but there is a 2 second delay on the video as opposed to .25 second delay for lite. The shortcut function makes it easy to navigate to your cameras so you can skip the unnecessary features. They added a floating bubble interface that slightly moves around. Then smaller bubbles around the setting bubbles that navigate back to the home screen or you can swipe down. Also, there is a rotating wheel that points to different options for each camera. Which doesn’t make sense when there are only two options to choose for each setting. Instead of pressing audio off when it’s on, mic off when it’s on, or 720 when you want 1080, you have to rotate a pointer to each of these settings. Then press on one of two bubbles, off or on. Why not have 1 bubble for each of the 3 options that turn off and on? You added a extra step for no reason other than your touch screen interface engineer is a bored 20 year old and really into iPads. I noticed this problem when I turned on the audio and mic at the same time, which caused a high pitch screech. I instinctively pressed the off button on the mic to stop the noise, however the wheel was still pointing at the audio setting. So I had to rotate the wheel back to the mic setting just to mute it. Also, the moving bubble theme seems pretty unnecessary unless your trying to appeal to my mom. Overall, the firmware updates worked for older devices and the app is functional. If you get rid of the gimmicky bubble interface and unnecessary rotating pointing wheel in the camera settings, you have a 5 Star app. Keep the rotating wheel for the Price is Right.
