I would use photo to id birds. Click on Photo and it would open my camera. Now my camera opens and it is a black screen and none of the controls work.

Picked up bird watching during lockdown and found this app to be an invaluable resource. I had no experience or anyone to guide me so it was very helpful and effective.

Casual birder here and this App is phenomenal. Whether it’s by picture or sound this app never ceases to amaze me. Love it and would highly recommend.

What I love about this app is that it is very easy to use and generally I can identify my bird. What I don’t like about it is the limitation of just 3 colors

One of my favorite apps. Turned on so many bird lovers to this app has made the experience much better.

I keep having trouble adding migrating or rare birds to my life list because they don’t show up in the list of birds generated by the bird ID feature. I live in Washington State and have seen a Snowy Owl, Snow Geese, and Tundra Swans, but they don’t show up in searches. Sometimes the bird is too far away to get a good photo, especially with my phone, so I can’t use the photo ID option. If I Explore Birds I can find them and the range shows it as possible in my area, but I can’t add a bird to my list unless it turns up in a search through the bird ID or photo ID. Also, I can’t add birds from over 20 years ago with an accurate date because it only gives you the last 20 years to select from.

Could you please add a feature where you can add a bird to the life list by searching its name. There have been a few times where I know exactly what the bird is but I cant seem to put in the correct height/ color / activity to populate the bird in the que. I love the app, great work!

So many times I was out on a walk, heard unfamiliar bird songs and would look in vain for the bird making the calls. Using this app has been so gratifying because it identifies birds by their calls, and provides not only bird identification, but all their varied songs and calls.

Works great- can use cell phone to take a photo of camera or computer screen (or use a phone photo), give it the date and location, and app does a great job narrowing down to 1-3 birds. Even keeps your life list.
