Photo ID works very well with the photos I take with my DSLR and telephoto lens. The app also works on macOS (with an Apple Silicon Mac), which is great because I can ID from my computer doing this. I'd really like it if a future version of the app supported a share action for images. That would let you send a photo from any source to it (not just the photo library) instead of relying on an in-app photo picker that requires it to have full access to your library.

I love this app so much!!! It makes it so easy to identify birds, keep track of my list and learn more about the birds in my area. I would recommend this to anyone!

As a new bird watcher, I have found this app to be very beneficial. It is simple to use and even records the bird, date seen, and adds the bird to my “Life List”.

Merlin app is great, I use it most days. Every now and then there will be a bird it does not identify, but overall the app has helped me figure out who’s coming to my yard. Huge thanks to the Cornell Lab of Ornithology, for this app, their courses, and all they do for feathered friends and their admirers!

Working from home for the last 2 years behind a large window I had the opportunity to notice birds like never before and I was curious about them. This app is very easy to use and has taught me much about the birds in our neighborhood. I have also seen birds in the last 2 years that I have never seen in our neighborhood before.

I love this app so much. I love the Sound ID that’s in real time and the picture ID. I used to be able to use the “most likely near me” or whatever it’s called but lately it does not work. If I click on it the app freezes and even if I try to exit it will back my phone up for a minute. This has actually been an ongoing issue. Updating it when the sound ID Came out didn’t seem to help.
