This app (version 4.9.9) doesn’t work on the latest Charge 4 speakers. Although the app shows it supports the Charge 4, it fails to recognize both of my recently purchased units; app hangs in “searching for product”. When JBL support was contacted, they acted clueless. After sending them screen shots of the problem, they replied, “the app was undergoing update”, but they failed to provide either a workaround or an expected release date for a patch. Although the speakers can pair, and operate concurrently, there is no way to customize any of the features and functionality required by the app which JBL has advertised to work. This product was introduced two years ago and still lacks full functionality.

I like the app though the stereo function is a bit erratic. In the stereo mode, it appears to disconnect and reconnect at will. Sometimes I lose audio on one speaker and I have to restart both speakers and connect them before I get it working again. I usually have my iPhone XR next to one or the other speaker when using the app. I have installed the latest firmware (4.9.10) update on both Flip4 speakers.

The app itself has a few flaws, but over all it’s a good app. But with usage I started noticing that there are a lot of bugs where I cannot connect two speakers or the speaker itself just won’t connect to the app. I also want to add that it misses a lot of features like having an equalizer which would be really amazing.

The JBL 5 speakers are Phenomenal, but this App is worthless!!! Worthless garbage!!! The ability to separate right and left Channels works about 2% of the time. When it does work, It takes 15 minutes of turning on and off each speaker and pressing the pair button on each speaker numerous times. Then, every once in a while it works, no rhyme or reason as to why.... Trash. Fix it losers!!

This is the worst product I have ever bought in my entire existence

The app is pretty much to pair two speakers. The app doesn’t even offer any EQ.

I have a JBL charge 3 and just got a JBL charge 4. It took a fat minute for the app to actually get the two to work together but when they do it’s awesome. App definitely needs some work though.

I like how I can update my Charge 4 to the latest version. I just wish JBL speakers would show battery percentage in iPhone widgets. Since it does not I was hoping the app would. All it shows on the app is a bar. All my other Bluetooth speakers show battery percentage which I like. App needs more improvement they should listen to the customers!!!!!!
