So many issues

1) Firmware updates says pending, but never complete 2) Contact Support button in app always says “PLEASE TRY AGAIN” 3) Pairing devices just doesn’t work. 4) Trying to get a hold of a human from IKEA to tech support issues is impossible. No one at the main IKEA (888) number knows how to troubleshoot Tradfri and I was told by a short tempered rep “if it doesn’t work for you, just return it.” - Might take you up on that.

This app needs a lot of work even now as I’m writing this ap none of the characters are even displaying. The idea that I need to pair the remote with 3 different units is insane and not user friendly. This product should have not been released until fully tested! The only home assistant that works with this is google home. It seems that Apple and Amazon can’t added it to there setup. IKEA you need to go back to the drawing board on this item the shades are useless and can be pricey if the home enabled features don’t work! Either cut the price down or remove the HomeKit feature.

I’m not sure why the average rating for this app is so high. My experience, so far, has been sub par. I bought the IKEA smart blinds and used the app to connect with the gateway. I’ve had to completely remove the blinds twice now because they can’t be found or only one blind will be controlled through timers. Speaking of timers, the interface makes no sense for blinds. Why do I have to choose a time range for opening or closing instead of just a time? Also, I can’t connect the blinds to HomeKit. Maybe the functionality doesn’t yet exist? Pairing could also be a lot simpler if you ask me. So the app (for blinds at least) has potential but it’s not there yet.

No Longer Launches and crashes under iOS 13.3

Sadly disappointing how little support and maintenance this app gets. Very disappointed in Ikea. This app now no longer launches under iOS 13.3 and crashes and insta-quits upon launch, rendering it useless. I am now unable to configure new lights that I purchased and will therefore take them back for a refund, and IKEA loses money and I will buy a competing product. How is that smart business sense?

Steering devices won’t connect to hub

After over a year of using IKEA smart bulbs, all my bulbs randomly disconnected from the app (greyed out) a couple weeks ago. Tried re-pairing everything and that didn’t work. Tried resetting the hub and starting over and that didn’t work because non of my steering devices want to connect to the hub.
