Can’t connect to Google Home

Would love to review higher, but the very long wait for Google Home support, the constant difficulty of setting up new devices, and lack of support...this whole Trådfri program deserves one star. IKEA, please add more help to the Trådfri team! Give them the support they need and you could be THE answer to home automation.


Completely stopped working.

Worked great for a couple months with little issues. At some point, none of the bulbs were recognized on my phone (they still turn on manually but I can’t control them). Tried to reset my WiFi, no change. Decided to just disconnect and reconnect everything (gateway, remote, bulbs). Now nothing will connect/pair. Pressing the button for pairing on the remote does absolutely nothing. The gateway can’t be found by the app, despite everything being connected properly. I’ve already tried every hard reset option. I have no idea what to do at this point. Troubleshoot on the Ikea website is nonexistent. Every question concerning a problem is answered with setup instructions (e.g. Bulb not connecting? Connect using the remote!) I have never in my life been this frustrated with any piece of technology. It just does. not. work.


Not connecting

I just connected my light bulbs and tried to check it out. Only one connected the second was not detected few min later and app did not recognize the devices I just connected

My review used to be 5 stars, until I moved. New house, everything worked but the bulbs were in different rooms. I removed he bulbs from the app, and wanted to pair them with a different steering wheel. I couldn’t pair them, and read about the light switch toggle 6 time trick to reset bulbs. Guess what? You can’t reset them. Look on the internet, tons of complaints. You can reset and pair the white bulbs, not the 3 tone bulbs. I took the bulbs back to ikea, and they did replace them. Hopefully they fix the issue before I move again.

It’s great to have because of the remote features when added to HomeKit. However, every time the system loses power, your house loses power, your internet goes out, you change your home’s internet password, the bridge has a firmware update, or there’s an app update, all of the above render the system unusable until you erase all its settings and go through the ENTIRE setup process EVERY TIME! IKEA, get your s*** together and fix this! Handicapped people, especially like myself, can’t keep going through this crap repeatedly!


Every update breaks pairing with alexa

Every single time this app is “updated” it breaks all my connections and I have to start all over again connecting to alexa.


Oops! We can’t connect to your gateway

I am constantly getting this error message after I attempt to use the app and connect to my TRÅDFRI hub a day after setup. I can scan the QR on the bottom of the hub again after seeing this message and everything works great. A day later the gateway can’t be found and another setup is needed. Frustrating! Please fix.


App keeps disconnecting from gateway

The app keeps disconnecting from the gateway very often so I have to rescan the barcode repeatedly. There seems to be no logic as to why it disconnects, but it is very aggravating. Nice when it works, but no reason to have to keep reconnecting the gateway so often.
