Ha! The font isn’t even showing up as I type this. Worst app build on the backend ever.

App constantly crashes and on every use

This app crashes every time I use it. I have space on my device. I have uninstalled and reinstalled. I close the app and power cycle my device. Incorrect videos preview on the wrong articles. I have the latest updates. Not sure why this issue still occurs and IGN hasn’t addressed these issues. I very rarely write a review about an app and the performance of this application has drove me to post about my experience.

A buggy mess

Years ago when IGN completely redesigned their app I didn’t mind so much and there were some issues at first of course, but you think they would have those bugs figured out by now, I was wrong! I haven’t used the app in a while and it’s somehow worse! And certain bugs were NEVER FIXED FROM OVER 2 YEARS AGO! If you turn off auto play, when a video is finished playing in full screen there is no way to exit the video, no X button no minimize NOTHING! If you start one video and then click on the another they will both be playing the audio at the same time. Theater mode (while definitely welcome) is also very buggy, the comments for some reason are a dark grey against an even darker grey background and are literally impossible to read, and rotating my device to watch a video causes all kinds of issues. Sometimes videos just won’t play anymore and I have to delete the app and re download to fix. The list of bugs goes on and on, it’s practically unusable, and if you want people to actually come to IGN and use your app then you need to FIX IT! For the record I’m using an iPhone 11 with the latest iOS update and IGN app update

How is this app still logging me out every 5 days?

Why won’t you fix your app? It constantly logs me out, shows ads unless I refresh every time, freezes when trying to open a page, has broken embedded content, inconsistent latest articles so you have to refresh like 5 times to get that current, the list goes on. AND ITS BEEN LIKE THIS FOR YEARS NOW

I love IGN, but man, whoever you hired to design your app and website must be lazy or lacking skills. It’s glitchy, the loading is HORRENDOUS, and it’s not user-friendly. I studied media design, so I am not speaking on something I don’t know anything about. I just wish I could see this app improve so it’s not a complete pain in the ass to use for walkthroughs while trying to complete a game.

When the app actually works it’s easily 4 or 5 stars. But the app is consistently broken for long periods of times. Right now the Video player doesn’t work and most the articles talking about deals are not even viewable. Also most the links don’t work and the search function in the app is abysmal, it will pull stuff from 2007 when trying to search for new games in 2020 (exaggerated a little bit lol). It’s been a couple weeks maybe longer since these issues have been happening and no updates or anything saying they are working on fixing it.

A lot of pop up ads. It’s annoying. I just start to read something and an ad appears. Easier to just use my web browser without all the annoying ads.

Half the articles are not formatted properly to show up on the app. Considering ign covers games, movies, and ‘technology’, it’s sad they still haven’t figured out how to format things to show up on their app.
