I can’t say enough good about this app. It’s amazing! I have been using it for years and it has gotten better and better since then. It’s so easy to use especially when you link to shopping cards or accounts. I wouldn’t have been able to afford getting a new iPhone if it wasn’t for this app. Thank you Ibotta!
Too complicated

I found the methods of earning money to be needlessly complicated. Too many steps involved. You either spend time or money in this life, and I’d rather not waste time on this and just enjoy it. Edit on 2/7/21: Per the developer reply...I already was familiar with the app. Still too complicated to get a little money back. Plus, customers are your product, here. They’re giving you their privacy so you can sell the marketing data. The least you could do is to make the process easier.

The app itself is great. I feel like I don’t buy a lot of processed foods or the brands they have, so it takes awhile for me to save up enough to redeem anything. They have gotten better with produce and any item things though.
Misleading and a waste of time

The bonuses are so small, it’s nit worth the time it takes to get them. And they promised a $20 welcome bonus (that’s why I downloaded) and now it’s $15 if I enter 9 different receipts within 14 days. So yeah. Waste of time and data.

2 negatives - 1) if my card is connected, i shouldn't have to upload my receipt & scan bar codes after the purchase. 2) even though it 'says' my card is connected, (Food City), it never adds my offers & does not offer to upload receipt
No longer worth your time!

An hour and 41 minutes...that is how long it’s been since I began trying to submit my average Walmart grocery receipt with 3 Ibotta offer items on it. After updating, installing and reinstalling, and about 30 attempts to “redeem” I’m still sitting here absolutely bewildered that a predatory app like this could be allowed to exist. It was not always like this, but I can no longer remember last when Ibotta wasn’t riddled with errors and troubled submissions. The offers are great...if only the submission process didn’t freeze my screen every time and crash the program (and yes I have double-triple checked: latest version of app 4 days ago and latest 14.4 version of iOS software too!). Your time is worth more than the chump change they may or may not end up paying you after writing dozens of support tickets to customer service!

Every “update” just makes it harder for you to earn cash back. Also, I can’t transfer the money to my bank account.
Team has been missing for years!

For years now I’ve had the same problem, my teammates have completely disappeared. A whole list of my Facebook friends, except my mom. Including my sister, who still has me on her list and still gets credits from my purchases. I can’t complete team tasks by myself. I’ve brought this up many times over the years to no avail. Yes, everything’s updated. Yes, I’m connected to my Facebook. Yes, I’ve given the app permissions. Yes, I’ve disconnected and reconnected. Nothing from the cut and paste list that I’m sent, every single time, works. But upon finding out that none of it works, suddenly I quit getting responses from customer service.
