IPHONE: Now you can use iAnnotate on your phone, with all of the great features you’ve come to expect on your iPad.

IPAD PRO: iAnnotate works great with the iPad Pro. Automatically annotate when you use the Apple Pencil and easily pan, zoom, scroll with your fingers — no tool switching required. Get more work done with iOS multitasking and smart keyboard shortcuts.

ANNOTATE: Choose from the pen, highlighter, typewriter, stamp, straight-line, note, underline, strikeout, photo, voice recording, arrow, rectangle, circle, and date stamp tools.

CUSTOMIZE: Drag and drop tools to your custom toolbars. Swipe between toolbars, or open the Toolbox to access all your tools.

ACCESS: Connect with Box, Dropbox, Google Drive, OneDrive (including OneDrive for Business) or open PDFs directly from email and other apps.

SEARCH: Search documents in your local library and throughout your cloud storage.

SHARE: iAnnotate saves your markups directly to the PDF, so they can be viewed and edited in external PDF readers.

FLATTEN: Compress your annotations onto the document to prevent modification. This is useful for preserving signatures or for preventing recipients from deleting or changing your annotations.

WEB MARKUP: Open a web capture tab and find the site you want to mark up. iAnnotate will convert it to a PDF for annotation.

NAVIGATE: Explore your documents by thumbnails, bookmarks, annotations, or search results.

UNLIMITED TABS: Open multiple documents in tabs, and easily navigate between them, on both tablet and phone.

MANAGE: Arrange documents by folders and sort contents by date added, date last opened, or alphabetical order.

CREATE: Create brand new PDFs with blank, lined, or graph-paper pages.

MODIFY: Add, delete, rotate, and rearrange pages in your documents.

SUMMARIZE: Forward a summary of your annotations as an email or a new PDF.

SECURE: Full support for the iOS Data Protection and Keychain functions.

Disappointing
Marcel1202016

I rely on this app to mark up text heavy PDFs using my Apple Pencil, and I feel compelled to describe my disappointing experience. First, the “active” annotation box is not intuitive. It’s difficult to go back to an annotation that you’ve already made to revise it further. It takes too many steps to do that. And it’s annoying how easy annotation boxes can be inadvertently moved around. Second, the app picks up errant marks from my hand resting on the screen when I mark up a PDF. I tried the wrist protection feature but it does not work well. Third, sometimes pages on the PDF appear blank when I scroll through. So I have to close the app and reopen it for them to appear. Fourth, once the app kept crashing in the middle of me trying to mark up a PDF. When I reopened the file, I received an alert indicating “Crash Detected: It appears that the app was improperly shut down and forced to restart” (which makes no sense) and the last few changes I had made were not saved. Finally, and this is the WORST part — on occasion, when I am working in a PDF, all of a sudden all of my annotations disappear, all at once. After I frantically scroll through the PDF, they all reappear again. But one time, they never reappeared. I closed the app and reopened it and they were just gone. NOT ACCEPTABLE.

Slow, Missing Basic Functions

Let me start by saying I actually like the app overall. It has a great selection of tools that are both functional and easy to use. That being said, it’s irritating that basic functions are missing. For example, if you upload files from your computer, it goes into the sharing folder. The contents of this folder cannot be moved to other folders—they must be copied. Copying large folders takes forever. And in some cases, the app does not copy every file. Further, you can’t easily be sure that everything was copied because—for whatever reason—there is no file count for each folder. The program counts each file that you might select, but you must select each file individually, as there is no select all files function. And, if you don’t select an individual file in exactly the right spot, the file does not get selected—it opens and you have to start selecting individual files all over again. I have folders with hundreds of files in them, so this is incredibly frustrating. How about adding some of these basic functions?

Totally Indispensable!

This is my most treasured App. Works great for my knitting patterns and keeping things organized. The Customer Support Team is also fabulous!

Stability Improvement… Really?

More and more, I mark up extensively a twenty paragraph article for study. When I go back to review everything vanishes. I agree with other reviewers. iAnnotate has gotten worse with new versions. Been using iAnnotate for years. Now, I’m reconsidering.

Love IAnnotate
App crashes each time

Just upgraded to iannotate for from and older 3 version. Is there a way to transfer all of my data over? It’s like years and years of stuff

Highly Recommended!

I’ve been using this app for almost a year. It’s essential that i have a PDF Editor on my phone now that I’ve been working remotely. It’s worth every cent i paid for, heck I would be willing to pay more for this. The best thing about it? It’s a one time purchase! None of that subscription nonsense for an app of this kind! The subscription model makes sense for streaming apps. But charging a recurring rate monthly for a PDF editor is extortion, plain and simple.

I love using I annotate, it works well and the only glitch
tony frigh

Is when you turn your work over and only the annotation is there and the pre-print from the work order or existing print does not show up. Tony Frigh

App Feedback
Lolacoco

Great app!! Am using this app from almost 10 years since I was in med school until now, you have every tool you need for studying.

So many limitations
Preview Works Better

You can only highlight a document if you have a PDF that has selectable text. Other annotation apps allow you to do both. Converting non-pdf documents to PDF requires an internet connection making it difficult to use the app's full functionality while traveling. You can use the app offline if you make your cloud-based documents available offline. However, your notes cannot be saved. Other apps allow temporary saving to your device and then update your documents when you can connect to the internet again. Overall, needs many improvements.

Please Fix!

Way too many glitches for way too many years. The os and tools have major, consistent issues. A stylus tap will suddenly expand the text beyond readability, the straight lines shoot out like lightning bolts over the whole page, the highlighter doubles and widens, the underline dominos down the page, the tool borders (blue control dots) don’t respond, and the app, more than any other I use, shuts down. I’ve reached out to client services twice, and they’ve no suggestions. Yet, I stay. ?
