I have used homeaway many times, mainly in the US but also in London. Properties listed have always been as described and photographed. I feel reassured by the policies homeaway has that my money is safe and my details are secure. The site has many listings to choose from at different price points and I have always found something to suit our needs perfectly

Hard to share listings

I want to start out by saying I been using Homeaway for years and prefer the host experience with Airbnb hosts. But the service fees has gotten ridiculous that I had to use Airbnb I also want to mention It’s hard to share listings with other users you copy the link and then it opens up the App Store. What if I don’t want to download the app I just want to have quick peak at the listing

The app allows homeowners to control their review score by not sending a guest a review link if they are afraid the guest might not have enjoyed their stay. I don’t think that should even be legal. USE A DIFFERENT APP TO FIND A VACATION PROPERTY!

I’ve rented multiple vacation homes on home away. The site has been reliable since I started using it in 2014. With anything read the reviews and reach out to the owners prior to booking. This is always my initially go-to site when booking a vacation.

My wife and I with our three kids stayed at he the Villa for two weeks. The we had a very warm welcome and send off buy the owner. The villa is an modern gem with all the amenities. Nestled gated community with a fantastic view of the ocean from all inside and out living spaces. A walkout dinner area nicely blends with nature, acing as an observatory, made for a glorious night grilling with friends.
$59 trip protection fee

I don’t like this new feature. This wasn’t required the last time I booked. Also, I called and spoke to a customer service agent and asked if this was able to be refunded if there was no damage and he told me it was up to the home owners discretion. I then asked the home owner and she told me it is up to HomeAway...
Frustrating

It is very frustrating that the app does by provide any contact information. I have booked two different trips through this app that have been unexpectedly cancelled by an owner. The owners should be held to a higher standard and have consequences if they cancel a booking. This app is too pro owner and provides no protection for the users.
