Have previously booked with Discover Card and now they do not accept. Called customer support and they had me on the call or on hold for 45 minutes. Attempted to say that the property owner did not accept Discover Card. Only to have the property owner call Home Away VRBO support and inform me that Home Away /VRBO does not accept Discover Card.
Have been using HomeAway for years now. We have always been happy.
It doesn’t save your progress as you update your listing. I spent over an hour updating my profile for my rental home and it didn’t save any of it the next time I opened the app, even though I clicked save each time I updated a section. Complete garbage
It’s the simple things that make or break the iser experience of the app ??♀️
Most properties are expensive. Not just that, the cleaning and service fees are very high. Even for the cheap properties. And to top it off, they all require deposits, unlike AirBNB which does't always require one. Thanks but I'll pass! Good luck!
Watch out for unexpected cancellations. Do not expect any help from web site when they cancel your booking.
So far a very bad experience- worst rental ever. Asked if there was an electric mixer before we booked and they said yes but there isn’t one here. Property listing said cable tv but the TV wasn’t even connected and only gets 3 Spanish language stations. We booked through HomeAway but only response to our messages is “contact VRBO” which we cannot log into. Would never have booked if they had been honest about the place
