I used Home Away to book our visit to Italy last summer and a trip to England and Scotland this summer. While I don't think the updates in the past 15 months or so have improved the app itself (there is much less functionality than when I first started using it), it is slowly improving. I miss the original availability calendar. The replacement doesn't scroll to dates far enough in the future. I do really love the ability to draw a circle around the area I am interested in. The reviews are still truncated. I don't know of any other app that I can use to reliably book apartments for my trips. So it fills a need.

We've been booking vacation places using Homeaway for many years. The mobile app has been a great addition to the actual website. It makes it easy to check on itineraries and communicate with the homeowners that we are renting from. Also, so easy to search for new places to stay and share the places I find with my wife.

Christina B. 1 review “Homeaway stay away!!!!” - So it all started when I had to give my credit card info to book a room. Then the owner said it wasn't available so I had to cancel my reservation. Well Homeaway scam away took over $600 from my card put it on hold and then won't release the funds!!!! They say it will eventually fall off!!!! What the hell!!!!! So now my card for my wedding is slammed with a hold over $600!!!! You all are scam artist and full of BS!!!!! I will be contacting he BBB

This is my first time using home away and it was easy to install and use. I found a property I liked and connected with an owner rather quickly. I paid for my reservation and everything so far seems great. When do you normally get the details of when to pick up keys? I am renting a condo and wasn't sure how that would work. It's not like there is a hotel lobby to check in to.
