Worst service ever - would NEVER recommend

I’ve never written an app review, but I could not wait to write this one. The app is manipulative and the customer service unhelpful. Also, there is a $99 cancellation fee!! For anyone who is lured by the initial savings! Disclaimer: This is based on my experience in NYC. 1. App is manipulative: when you first start using the app they will provide the most top-notch cleaners to your “pro-team”, but as you continue the people who are scheduled to clean your place are newer to Handy and/or less professional 2. Customer service unhelpful: My roommate had hundreds of products stolen from her bathroom. The cleaner just wiped her counter clean and took the items with them. We also had several cleaning supplies stolen as well. Customer service was not able to reimburse us for any of it...not sure the last time you bought perfume, toothpaste (yep, stolen too), and makeup and kept the receipts after use Bonus: If you want your money to actually go the person helping you, I’d recommend finding someone else or a different service to help you. From several cleaners we’ve had, we know that not even half of the money paid goes to them. Sincerely, An extremely dissatisfied customer

Good if you’re not picky about cleanliness

I’ve used Handy for over a year, and here are my issues: 1. The first time a pro comes to your house you’ll get the most amazing cleaning. 2. If you request the same pro, the next cleaning will also be amazing. 3. Subsequent cleanings are like the “pro” got complacent and just DNGAF. 4. “Pros” do not pay attention to window sills or dust anywhere that isn’t the floor. 5. “Pros” are supposed to take out the recycling, but that never happened for me. Overall, I can clean my house better than the Handy “pros.” I just don’t want to; I don’t have the time - but I quit the service because I truly was not getting any value out of a cleaning that I could have done much much better.
Unreasonable Cancellation Policy

I cancelled because I wasn’t comfortable with the fact that I requested a specific person and then found out someone else would be coming instead. Even though I had not had even one cleaning, they charged me $99 cancellation fee for the plan, plus $15 cancellation fee for the individual booking. Customer service said, sorry, that’s our policy. Even for a first time customer? Sorry, that’s our policy. $114 for absolutely nothing.

Honestly they are very nice and accomodating to needs. They have been to my place 4x ready and fixed all errors.

Very expensive for poor work (home cleaning). Also the workers only take home about 50% of what you pay. If you sign up for a plan then you’re stuck and have to pay 99$ to get out early. Terrible.

Update: this time it wasn’t the Cleaners fault. HANDY arbitrarily canceled the booking ACTER the pro had arrived and started working. They did so because their app is awful and stopped working so instead of facilitating a simple fix, they just canceled out the pro. Basically taking money from the pro because HANDY as a company can’t get their act together. Long story short: at least 4 times cleaners have canaceld at the very last minute. I have still been charged for the service. Taken my dog to day boarding (which isn't cheap) and it's all for nothing. When you complain via email, you MAY get a response a few days later that says"well we refunded you, were not taking into consideration any expenses that you may incur because of our negligence". Handy is terrible. The app service is awful. The cleaners are a tossup. I've had some that were amazing. And others that didn't do anything. There are great people who clean and those people should use this service to get a base of clients and then steal them away from Handy. No one should ever have to use this terrible app. It's awful. Customer service is a joke. And they make it near impossible to cancel service. Handy USED to be great when it still used "Execs" cleaners and infrstrucutre. Avoid this app like the plague it is. PS. Devs - please do not respond to this you are disingenuous and you won't change anything. Don't pretend like you care.

This App is a total scam. It charged me $120 for a cleaning. The cleaning person says they checked in but GPS showed them 256 miles away. They said they finished. I Never saw a person once. A Customer Service phone number does not exist, and Handy will not respond to my e-mails.
