The only thing to get me to floss daily

M-Chisam

Makes me accountable. The power is in the breakdown between habits and tasks - what you NEED to do daily and what you WANT to do more of.

No good.

Tried to register an account but every time it said that it couldn’t connect to the servers and to check my connection. My connection works or this review wouldn’t have made it.

Parties

Joining a party was far more tedious than it should have been. I got a lot of error messages. I eventually managed to join, but considering has strong wi-fi connections, I’m pretty sure the “can’t connect to server” and “group does not exist” and “request outside parameters” are glitches.

Can’t register, literally unusable

gofe huck yourself

Given a false connection error when I try to register and I see I’m far from the only one experiencing this. Would like to try the app but I’m skeptical that it’s any good given they haven’t been able to program a functional login screen in two years.

Loved by teenagers & adults at our house

I’m a Mom of six kids born over three decades (ages 2-21). I used to be an avid WoW player since vanilla, but quit now that I have 2 young kids again. I joined Habitica to use my love of video games to motivate me to do the many different things I have to do as a mother, wife, and homemaker. I also suffer from chronic back & sciatic pain stemming from an L5/S1 herniated disc that has led to 2 surgeries & possibly more, and I've suffered from multiple mental illnesses for years. Habaticia is a sanctuary of kindness & motivation I'm so grateful to have found! It helps keep me accountable when my depression tells me to stay in bed all day, to socialize when my anxiety says to isolate, and to move and do something, anything, when my physical pain is high. I've shown it to my therapist and he highly approves and says he's recommended it to a few other clients! I'm also an autism advocate as 3 of my children are on the spectrum.2-21). I've shown it to my therapist and he thinks it’s great for me and has recommended it to other clients. My teens and I are not only bonding with each other, we are improving our productivity as well. Anyone ages 13ish up can use this. My teenagers set habits (positive ones to increase & negative ones to decrease), daily must (should) dos, and specific one time only to-dos around school, extracurriculars etc. We are all in a party together and we have friendly competitions about who levels faster etc. It’s silly that collecting every type of online cute pets is motivating enough to get me to clean or teenagers to do homework, but it’s working! We work on quests together it’s great. However you can TOTALLY play by yourself. I played for over three months before getting my family on board, and there are guilds, chats, and challenges anyone can join. The community is probably the friendliest I’ve EVER seen on the internet, ask a question and you’ll get a friendly answer or pointed in the right direction. No hate, just a group of people looking to improve their real lives through a fun game. Many guilds covering a WIDE multitude of subjects, and challenges you can join to improve yourself further (I.E. I’m currently working on quitting vaping & keeping a cleaner home). Can’t recommend enough! The app does have its glitches, but the website version Habitica.com is near flawless with a very helpful Wiki the site directs you to. You can use the site and app back and forth rather seamlessly.

Good but glitchy

Superzke131

I love this app and I use it every day. But then there was an update and it crashes when I try to use it.

An object in motion stays in motion. I don’t have enough time to get all the things done that I want to do in order to reach the next level or buy the next piece of equipment! This app is just what I’ve been needing in order to get myself from a state of standstill to one of avalanche! Two thumbs and eight fingers up for this app!

Doesn’t work.

Can’t create an account. So get reminders in pm, to check off my list. But am unable, after 10+ attempts to sign in and create an account or recover a password. Problem with this approach - cannot use an app like this if cannot sign in.

Looks great! If only it would actually work.

I saw this app that looked pretty darn cool, so naturally I wanted to try it out and better myself in a fun way. However, I can’t even sign up due to an error stating that I cannot connect to the server. I was browsing the internet, download the app, and tried signing up within 5 minutes so it definitely is not a problem on my end. What a shame.
