I can’t believe what a piece of junk this is.
lorex is Junk!!!

The user interface is an embarrassment to use and I just can’t believe that a company would allow this onto the market place. I wanted to write a list of the problems, but I don’t feel like giving them that much of my time. I could turn this into a mini-series and try to sell it to Netflix and with the proceeds purchase a new system. The major problem is that after upgrading from FLIR cloud to Lorex cloud (mandatory by the way) I just can’t access my cameras from my iPhone. Many, many calls to tech support and I am no closer to a solution then when I started. However, I am on a first name basis with several people in India. Anyway, I’m soooooo glad they upgraded their app. Sure wish I could see what is going on at my cafe instead of having to type this review that will accomplish absolutely nothing.

Camera owned by someone else

“Camera owned by someone else, please contact owner to setup”. What? I don’t know who else that could be, how do I reset this?

Fairly good app
WD Electronics

I’ve been using his app for about 6 months and it’s pretty good. Finding past video could be better when you zoom into day to day recordings.

The worst customer service ever!!!!
MDonabue

The quality of the security cameras is good, but don’t expect any quality customer service for anything. I had a bad experience buying the project. They sent me the cameras without the hard drive and without notifying me. I didn’t know about the missing item until after I paid $400 as a deposit for an installer to come to the house. They opened the boxes and told me it’s missing the hard drive. I had to call the Lorex directly to find out what happened. They don’t let you know about the status. Expect to waste unnecessary time to deal with customer service. The lack of competency among the reps is beyond comprehensible. I lost my deposit because the worker came without all the equipment available. The hard drive was on back ordered. It didn’t arrive for over 2 weeks. Finally I got it and after the first set was installed I decided I didn’t need the second set. I tried to return the second set, but they won’t authorize it due to the 60 days return policy. I tried to call and had a case number before the end of the 60 days deadline, but no one ever called me. When you follow up about the problem, they don’t resolve any issues and hangs up the phone. Costco is a supplier of Lorex and an employee said that Costco has a problem with their customer service too. Even though the product is good, but if you depend on customer service or tech support, don’t count on it. I’m still waiting to resolve my issue. The sales rep when I first placed the order with had zero personality. Sounded like he just woke up out of bed. I gave it a one because customer service is always my number 1 concern. This order has cost me -$1100. Lost so much money. Not worth it.

Flir app or the cam it self doesn’t always work
Jnbina

Iv has it for about a year now. Had to send in to get fixed and they just sent a new one so that was cool. Iv always had issues connecting. Just like right now. It doesn’t let me log in. I feel like every time this happens which is often, I have to delete the app. Reset the cam and do it over again. The app takes for ever to load. I have the iPhone X and it’s now slow. By the time I need to see what’s on cam what ever was there is gone. The recording is not able to view right away. Things get recorded to view every so often it seems. It’s an ok cam over all. The view is amazing. I’m not too happy with it but it cost a lot as is. And works most of the time. I may need to look for a better option though.

Connectivity issues
johnny #5

Cameras and system are all great. Picture l quality and features are pretty good but I still have a lot of problems with the app’s connectivity. If they could work this issue out once and for all, I’d definitely give it 5 stars.

So far so good

Just installed wired connection and easy to hook up and set up. Just need to research a few things but over all so far so good

Bad reviews

Have had my system for 2 yrs now and no real problems. Yes it may be a little slow at times to load recorded footage, but all in all has been a great system and app. I wonder if its not user error for all the diy ‘ers

Horrible software
Bluesnafu7

In May 2018, Flir version 4.5 was released. One of the new features was that we could now restart the security system remotely from “anywhere in the world” with Remote Restart. I thought this was going to be a fabulous feature since I have to (literally) restart my FLIR DVR about every 2 weeks after it goes offline & says it’s been “disconnected” on its own. The next time the DVR went offline I tried to reset it from my phone. Unfortunately the button to reset is only visible when the system is online & functioning. What’s the point of that? When the button is visible I’m not having issues and don’t need to reset. I love my Lorex cameras, they are wonderful quality, even at night. However, if the software that runs the cameras is terrible, it’s worthless to have the cameras which are VERY expensive. The software is difficult to operate AND you cannot download a video cut to your iPhone/iPad. I paid a little over $3,000 for this system & can’t download video to my iPhone??? I have a $180.00 RING at my front door and can download a video with their software to my iPhone in seconds. Get it together FLIR!!! If you don’t have cameras yet I would recommend you look elsewhere and check the camera software first before making your purchase.

Unreliable
mikerobertsonart

Constantly have to reboot my NVR to get the app to work remotely, about half the times I login I get “Device Offline” which makes having a $5000 surveillance system essentially useless. Never buying Lorex/FLIR products again.
