It’s ok at best

Let me start out by saying that I really like FF6, and am running this Mobile port on a brand new 1 week old, iPhone 11 Pro Max. First, even after reinstalling the app, the game crashes allot randomly. Second, for being a full priced game they didn’t do that great of a job with this port. Literally NO bug fixes (blood sword with Genji glove still drains your own chars health) and so on, and allot of the mini games( opera took me 30 tries) just simply are NOT made for a touch screen device, if I could request a refund I would. PS: to the people reviewing this saying “what a great port!” Please stop flat out lying to people, you either wouldn’t know a good port if it smacked you in the face or your intentionally misleading people.

Almost perfect game!

This is not a perfect port of the game (character sprite resolution conflicts with tile resolution among other things) but still, along with the PC release, the best version of this game. Some major glitches were fixed from the GBA version and, with that going for very high prices, this is great value! Would definitely recommend buying if you like Final Fantasy.

No sound?

The game plays fine but there no sound

Awful Controls

I love this game, but the controls are absolute garbage compared to other FF game apps. This needs to be fixed. It makes a great game nearly unplayable. I’m so disappointed. I just played Dimensions and FF5. They both feel like driving a sports car compared to this app that handles like a lame donkey. Please fix this issue.

You want to play this game? Emulate the original SNES game.

Tensaret

No port made has come close to the quality of the original game. Whether it’s inferior sound, graphics, or stability, Squareenix has failed every port of this amazing game. This one is no different. The art style completely clashes both on a visual coherency level and a tonal level. You know what doesn’t fit with a game that starts with dark storm clouds, an invading, murdering empire, and a young woman forced to burn dozens of soldiers alive while her mind was subjugated? Bright, brazen colors and character models that look pompous and inflated. Add in every battle screen having 4 separate, disjointed art styles between the characters, enemies, background, and menu... why is it so hard to make this game with current technology!? Hell. Get some tech savvy fans to do it Squareenix! They’ll do it faster, better, and with more passion than you can muster you pathetic, lifeless, greedy, lazy husks.

Great game made frustrating

Very faithful to the SNES version I loved decades ago. However on iPad the large & semi-opaque movement control is nearly impossible to use accurately — it can be maddeningly difficult just to aim for a door you want to enter, and it can cause you to fail timed tasks or anything requiring precise movements, such as mazes. Equally exasperating are the endless scripted scenes, especially near the middle of the game; at one point there were only about 20 minutes of actual gameplay within a two-hour block of game time. In short FFVI is great for nostalgia or to get a taste of the classic, but for smooth & engaging play on iOS, try III or IV instead.

Great game

Fun gameplay, intriguing story, nice music. But there is one thing that bothers me and that is the graphics , I wish it had the option to change it to pixel art style to make it look like the original.

Better not to buy this.
