Really wanted to play this through completely. But the onscreen control is simply not good enough to naviagte some of the spped based actions. For example - getting the cider in one of the first towns. Simply can't get accurate control. Bummer.

This was the first final fantasy game I played on the snes and I absolutely loved it and still do this is bar-none my favorite final fantasy (mainly because of nostalgia) this port is extremely well done,the controls are incredibly simple and easy to get the hang of,though if I absolutely had to have something to complain about,I'm not the biggest fan of the graphics,anyway really great port,of my favorite game in the final fantasy franchise and one of my favorite games of all time, from me this port gets a 10/10.

It's a good rpg with a good story. I found myself attached to the characters and the gameplay was stellar. 4.5/5

The game itself isn't bad. The mobile controls however are god awful. It is by far the most frustrating part of the game. They shouldn't have incorporated a controller button into the joystick. Makes platforming and interacting with moving objects an absolute nightmare.

Yes, the controls are slippery and take while to get used to. Yes, the graphics are stretched at the beginning... but there's a setting to change it to the natural aspect ratio... And in contrast to others, I thought the touch screen battle and config menus were brilliant and way quicker / easier to use than a D-Pad on a controller. Those negatives aside, it's an absolutely brilliant game and it blows my mind how much is packed into it. If you played the original FF3 on SNES, your organic nostalgia will probably drag down this port for you. If you're like me and you haven't experienced it before, go for it! You'll need a game guide at times, but it's an epic game to have on the go. Also make sure to have some good headphones for the masterful soundtrack.
Auto-Save Death Loop

Game was fun, but 4 hours in it auto-saved right after I died... so when I load the save, it just cycles me through the death sequence and pops me back out to the main screen. Not a glitch I'd expect from an expensive game, and I sure as hell am not going to play another 4 hours just to get back to where I was.
Controllers are a nightmare

Really good game but the controllers are the worst! They could use the ones in FFVII. This was really a deal breaker for me, if they could fix that i’ll rate this 5/5 stars.
Quick save needs fixing

I don’t typically write reviews but this one I had to do. I spent hours on this game and got to a timed trial where I ran out of time and failed. I returned to the home screen and hit continue, and the game had quick saved to a point a second before my I failed the time trial. Since there are not multiple save slots, and the game doesn’t use the actual save points, my only option at this point would be to start the game completely over again. Until this gets fixed it is absolutely not worth $15 to deal with this frustrating issue. I also won’t be buying anymore final fantasy games unless I’m sure this won’t be an issue in the future
