Honestly a good port

King dill

Very identical to the PSP dawn of souls port of the game. Very well done and seamless. In my play throughs have not experienced any glitches or game ruining experiences. It is final fantasy 1, the game that they made without any precedence and have since revolutionized the genre. For those who are expecting a streamlined gameplay where everything is made for the players convenience I'm afraid this isn't it. This game was made as a last ditch effort by Square, and as many last ditch efforts, it doesn't have that nice layer of polish we are used to. If you like RPGs with a polish I recommend final fantasy 4 or 6. The added dungeons are a nice touch to those who enjoy a challenge. But one big issue I have with the game is that there isn't really a challenge. The original port was pretty difficult (granted you didn't do the peninsula of power). And this game isn't very challenging until you hit the bosses, in which the difficulty spikes absurdly. 4/5 would recommend to the hardcore final fantasy fans, casual players I would suggest take a stab at 3, 4, or 6. (2 is pretty bad and 5 has many qualities that this game has)

Great port of title with flaws

Overall a great game and takes after the newer releases so you get access to the bonus dungeons and updated mechanics. However there seems to be an issue with quite a few people with the sound turning off for the game. For some other people it seems that opening the notification dropdown menu and scrolling brought it back and for others it was turning Siri off and on or changing the in phone date and restoring it to current date and time. However what solved it for me is something easily overlooked in my opinion as other apps like YouTube aren't affected by it. Apparently the games in game sound is tied to the silent switch on the phone. Mine tends to turn to silent sometimes in my pocket and I don't really noticed until I have a missed call or text. I would look for that before trying the other fixes.

Faulty App

IKnowItsHuge

It’s just the opening menu. It loops through the players as you make them but never actually allows you to play the game.

Retro glory

I went from FF on NES to (many years later) FF on iOS and it is great to play it again. Having missed out this port on other systems I am so glad to find it as an app. It is an excellent mobile game.

Can't drive

Walking controller is super inconsistent on my iPhone 6S. Gave up after a few minutes. Waste of $7.

Give an option to have the d-pad visible

Megamanfan1234

Control scheme is awful. Give an option to use whichever one a player would like. The game is nearly unplayable right now.

Too Easy

This version is way easier than the original. Level ups happen fast and eliminate half the challenge and fun of the game. Additions have also been made that don't really add to the quality of play. I was wanting a more true to the original game play. Kind of disappointing as this was one of my favorite games growing up.

I want my money back!

I still can’t figure out how to give the characters name so that I can actually play the game! So I downloaded FF2 and started playing that with no issues.
