iOS game controller support?

visayan01

Could you update this app to work with iOS game controllers, like the moga iOS game controller?

A delight that it is so good

GoTeamJames

I remember this game from when I was in high school. I was hesitant to try it because I was worried my memory of how great this game was in the late 1980s would fall flat when compared to so many awesome games since then. I read a ton of reviews about how you can’t save and the game is hard. Observations: 1. You can save... A lot of places-- I have yet to find a place that I can’t save. Save is a choice from your menu (and you have three save slots) and you don’t need to be in a town to save. 2. The game is it not hard but you will have to grind to level up. Some people hate that, in love it. That is what makes it a perfect iPhone game-- I can play for 10 minutes and then save... A couple of random battles and then get back to work. That is perfect! 3. While buying the game once allows you to play on both your iPhone and iPad, they don’t share an icloud or game center shared save-- this means you will have two different games. Perhaps there is a way to share the saves, but I have not figured it out. This game is excellent if you like the old school and like grinding. A+

Needs Cloud Saves

Rune Winchester

I love this game and it still holds up... I would really like to be able to take advantage of Cloud Saves. I would love to be able to switch between my iOS devices and back up my save file. I’m not a fan of the balance changes in this version. Specifically the over abundance of HP given to the White Mage, and the lack there of for the Red Mage.

Fun, but glitchy

Shacococo

I would give it three stars if I wasn’t attacked literally every step I take in a certain cave.

Dpad is horrible...

Sulblazer

When I first purchased this game, I played it chiefly on my itouch. The dead wasn't great, but it didn't detract from the game too much. I've recently tried playing this game again on an iPad mini thinking the larger screen would make this game even more enjoyable...how wrong I was! The new dpad icon is very intrusive on the world map and dungeons and, at times, require strange finger placement to see vital areas of the map like stairs or cave entrances. It's a shame that they would allow this dpad to ruin an otherwise fun game. I cannot recommend this game for purchased until the controls are fixed.

This app needs a major update

missingno5

It needs to be updated to run in widescreen on newer iphones. it needs icloud support. it needs ipad compatibility. step it up.

Liked the new levels

Grandmasboy2010

Got through the entire game and bonus levels and noticed no major hiccups, not sure what people are complaining about. I guess the controller was slightly touchy at times but didn't bother me. I thought this was the best FF in terms of gameplay

Still Fun After 20 Years

ClashCityKing

This is an even better version of the game I played as a kid on my NES. I loved playing it again and the new parts added. There's no Red Mage, only Thief, Fighter, White Mage, and Black but all kinds of fun. The direction pad could be better and it did frustrate me at times but the game was fun as ever.

Solid port worth the low cost

DrWh0Esq

This, along w Dragon Quest (Warrior) I, is a true classic of NES/early video game RPGs. 4 stars for mostly pluses... +A solid enough port, true enough to original with enough of later version changes that are appreciated. +Very affordable/good value for cost +Great starter (simple) RPG for kids +Stable A few -, mainly to experienced players, do prevent a perfect 5 star... -The over leveling issue wasn't toned back enough. It isn't game breaking though. Just know don't dally too much to Bahamut/class change. -Level up boosts are still partially random not static. Overall, a solid 4 that you likely won't regret at that cost (esp. on sale or in a package)

Controls OK for me

Matt284754627

For folks who are complaining about the controls: You don't have to click your character. The D-pad shows up anytime you tap the left side of the screen. You can easily move more than one space just by keeping your finger down in the correct position. It's a little large, but all you have to do is lift your finger up for a second if it's in the way of something on the left side of the screen. I'm having no issues on an iPad Mini; maybe it is more visually intrusive on a phone? Giving 4 stars for the game itself; controls are fine to me for this type of game.
