It’s a constant reminder of better games...

First I need to say that I’ve never been a huge FF fan. I don’t dislike it by any means and I’ve tried played more than a few of them and had a good experience. Anyway... The game looks fine. The play is a bit wonky and, at best, mechanical. The major issue is the gacha system. I’ve played games and invested in them. But this one, after you deplete the unitary honeymoon period of free stuff, is merciless regarding the RNG and it’s price point. In essence, the play value doesn’t equal the cost. And that play value? It’s a stripped down version of many other, better turn-based strategy games: FF Tactics for starters.

This game is addicting. Hope they increase chance to get rainbow fragments/ Awakening mats and increase the rate of summon drops and guaranteed UR in every pull, its frustrating getting all SR in a single pull. All banner should have guaranteed Pity like Ramza at 20k pulls. A lot of players are rage quitting or rerolling to get the newest and latest OP characters.

Don’t expect to get good characters because RNG is horrible. Unless you pay a lot of money. Impossible for F2P...

Lack of grinding opportunities

I love the game, I think it’s amazing, although I feel it’s a bit money greedy. The game hands out Visioire like its candy and that’s not the problem.. the problem is the lack of opportunities to obtain unit shards. Once you have your unit the game makes it almost impossible to get unit shards for limit break (for UR Units) you have to spend nearly a fortune of your money to get enough unit shards to make your URs even decent. Also the lack of opportunity to obtain magicite is a HUGE problem as well. I also believe the amount of paid to free options in shops is overbearing as well.

This is just designed to get you to spend as much money as possible and, it’s not fun because of it. The storyline isn’t good enough to justify the endless grind for upgrade materials, awakening materials, limit break material, job unlock materials... I could keep going but it’s exhausting even thinking about how many different systems there are and how they are designed to be tedious so that you spend money. Don’t waste your time. It’s nothing like Final Fantasy Tactics. Go buy that instead of this garbage.

Oh what a disappointment. I was looking forward to this game for so long, and at first, all seemed well. But that feeling quickly came to an end. Let’s make a little pros and cons list. Pros: - Fast stamina (NRG) recovery at 1 every 3 minutes - Very nice graphics, especially with the Esper summons - Gameplay is fun Cons: - Paid and free currency, so some things can only be purchased with in-game currency that you paid for - No way to unbind accounts other than Facebook. I’m wary of using Facebook to bind accounts to a SE game though, given my past experience with Opera Omnia where they discontinued that service without an e-mail or message on Facebook (I was taking a break so I didn’t see the in-game notification), and I was unable to get that account back. I sent them nearly every piece of information they requested except for player ID which I couldn’t get since you need to log into your account to get it. Kinda a stupid idea to require information that can only be gotten if you have the account anyway right lol - They took out the way to reroll quickly. That’s just dirty. Companies should know by now that players want to reroll when they start - VIP system with their “Royal Rank” - Very low drop rates - A bunch of annoying glitches - Terrible controls. It’s extremely difficult to direct your characters if there’s anything in the vicinity of your target, so you have to always be rotating the camera to get a clear view or drag the screen to manually move - Guild battles and arena are automatically played, and the AI is dumb as rocks. Rocks that were dropped on their head as babies. Who suffered multiple concussions. And dropped out of the 2nd grade. Seriously I can’t stress how stupid the AI is. You WILL lose because of it, and it will be frustrating - You need to grind materials for job levels a LOT. And depending on how badly RNGesus wants to laugh at you, you could repeat a stage literally dozens of times without getting even one copy of the material you need - Lazy reskin of another of gumi’s games, The Alchemist Code. They literally copy/pasted some stages lol Let me elaborate on the glitches. You see, you can watch ads up to 3 times at once, so many times a day to refill NRG or get items. Fair, right? You give them ad revenue, they give you free stuff. However...there’s a little problem with that trade. And it’s a big one. A lot of the time, you either can’t watch an ad, or worse, you watch it and get nothing. Example: I watch an ad, get summon an item, then try to watch a second ad. But for some reason I can’t, despite the game saying I have 2/3 summons available. Or the worse one: I watch an ad, and just get nothing but an error that kicks me out to the title screen. I wanted to like this game. I really did. I’m a huge FF fan and would love to see other FF characters in grid-based combat. But as it is right now, this game is far too flawed to play. Fix the glitches, dial back the P2W factor, and for GOD’S SAKE, either make the arena/guild battles PvE or FIX THE STUPID AI <_< Just some examples of the AI’s stupidity - Wasting Limit Bursts on a single grunt unit - Wasting time, skills, and AP by attacking grunts when all they need to do is lower a boss’s life. A boss who starts out extremely close - Having multiple people target the same enemy, only to have them die in one hit (Mediena targets an enemy, Y’shtola targets the same enemy, then someone waltzes in and kills that enemy so that both mages’ spells hit thin air) - Idiotic supporters who will buff themselves before the tanks they’re supposed to be buffing - Gunners who don’t even try to maintain their distance. This one really bugs me. Against slow tanks, Frederika can be literally impossible to touch since her attack distance is insane. She just needs to shoot the enemy when they’re in range, then move away. But nope, the AI will shoot, then end the turn without moving away, causing her to get smacked and die. Or worse, Sometimes she’ll run TOWARDS them to get into range.

Signed up for this game before launch cause it had everything I’ve been looking for in a fantasy tactics game forever. When I finally started playing it was great, good tactics easy to understand lvling system and it seemed to be generous with the RNG... but it was all a lie. Once the FF Tactics collab event was released I wanted to get Orlandeu but saw his drop rate is 0.08% UNDER ONE FREAKING PERCENT! And to buy gems to do a ten grab cost $40 bucks a pop... but the worst thing THE WORST THING is you can’t even share farm characters to unlock them and they don’t tell you that so I’ve spent all my in game currency and some of my own money collecting shards I MAY NEVER GET TO USE! I’m trying to like this game but they need to change their policies cause what it seems like to me is they just want to rip off hard core final fantasy fans like me

+++Great story line. Feels like a FF original storyline. Not going to lie, I like it a lot. But... it’s a huge but. This game is a huge money grab by the devs using nostalgia of older gamers.. to the devs. I hope you feel great about yourselves requiring someone to spend +$200 to get maybe 1 good character and a load of junk. If you don’t believe me do your own calculations with your chances. They legally have to disclose the % chances. If you have money to burn it’s great. Btw don’t believe all the great reviews. I bet a lot of paid for advertising. Instead I pulled out my original FFT on my psx for free and just as much fun.
