Final Fantasy Tactics 2

Duraxis

It really does feel like a successor to tactics, updated into the f2p mobile gaming generation. My only complaint is that you can’t turn units into any class like tactics, but that is a lot to ask for

Tactics Fans will be pleased

First off yes it’s a gatcha game tactics style and if you want to get the most out of it expect to spend some $ on it from time to time. Don’t like your starting units from your first summons? Delete and try again. There’s a good amount of online help if you feel lost youtube helps. Also resources to power up your units go fast so I’d say to someone just starting out play with a team you like for a good week and then start upgrading them. You might pull another character you like better and not have the resources to power them up. Each character has an element type so that makes it easier to decide. UR “Ultra Rare” characters are the rarest and take the most to upgrade so spend wisely. If you need help please let me know. And don’t blow through the in game currency too early save it for a character banner you really want. Otherwise you’ll have to spend about $80 to get more currency to pull for characters. ( Focus on one UR at a time) The game’s definitely an investment in itself. I hope they will continue to update the features because I intend to play it for many years to come. :) Danrio

Almost Perfect

Hamptonbt

The game has all the makings of a great game. Good story, beautiful graphics with an almost drawn look, and an in depth mechanics. I love playing it and will continue to do so. Now comes the only downside. It is a very money hungry game. The gotcha rates at very bad 2% for the highest rarity and once you get the units the cost to max them is very high. You can be f2p but you will never compete with those that spend money to speed advancement. You can beat all on game content such as story with very basic units but if you want to complete on PVP or PVE you will be stomped into the dirt. That said I will continue to play because the developers do listen to their fan base and they are pretty generous with free stuff. Just don’t expect to be pulling the best stuff on a regular basis.

Lost Nostalgia

Great game minus the mobile app Money making in game micro transactions. A lot of the old fft features for character development has been replaced with some rng elements, this game is really only like fft in concept. If fft was originally like this game it would have failed.

Love this game !

Greed 1988

I am a FF fan since PS1 ( FF7) and this game delivers great story telling and game play ! 100% recommended to those whom love RPG strategy games !

Typical pay to win game

rdg515

On a positive note, the game has cool effects and the tactics concepts exist (gunners with long range, ranger shooting far from high distances, etc). On a negative note, the AI is laughably terrible to the point that you can actually break one of the best characters in the game (Ayaka) by taking buffing skills like protect and shell because that’s all they’ll cast. Although it seems like a tactics game, it doesn’t feel that way because of the bad AI and unpopular non-AI game modes. The typical F2P issues exist. Maxing our just ONE of your 5 characters will take about 4 months due to the limited resources made available on a daily basis (unit shards, awakening stones and prisms). Balance is an issue because limited characters are very overpowered and only available for a short time. It is not feasible for F2P players to level them up within the short availability time and therefore will only have access to inferior standard characters.

Great!! But $$

Coolrell

Just like other reviewers this game is Gorgeous! Beautifully made as to high expectations of any final fantasy, but they are definitely money hungry. A paid option only will scare away any F2P

This game is an insult to the classic FFT.

This game could be a real keeper or even a great FFT remake! It is a pay to win game and a very expensive one. The story isn’t that great and in fact unpolished. The characters lack depth and personalities even for anime standard. Story mode with cut senses that don’t match the characters we choose to play with really take the tension away and make the characters forgettable and unimportant. Many of the skills are the same with different names. It is a LITE version for FFT and all the “complications” lie upon countless of items for upgrading character, weapons, etc. Projectile weapons make no sense. Arrows or bullets can go through walls now. Where is the good ol tactics? You learned to “counter” but you need to upgrade it a lot in order to have it becoming useful. Really? These are just some of examples why it is just an FFT wannabe. what I like and wish they had back in FFT days is AUTO battle that does help with grinding in boring brainless battles. One start of great art contents and another for the potential to be great. REMAKE FFT with this engine! Don’t change anything else and people will be happily paying the money you want.

The Gacha portion of the game

FlamingBlitz

Pulling for characters is such a pain in the ass if you aren’t lucky in getting the character you want you are most likely to have pulled at least more than 10 times because of how terrible the rates are of getting an ultra rare unit. I have used up a total of 30,000 free visiore (the premium currency and have yet to get the character I want. Also the game looks great with character designs and limit burst but the problem is just everything else because it’s a chore to do everything in the game which is sad because I want to love this game more but it’s hard to do it when it also leans more on the pay to win side than the free to play side
