Where are the weapons for player characters??
Tarkahn

This app is amazing except for the glaring fact that there doesn’t seem to be any weapons for player characters. Basically you have to enter all standard weapons such as dagger from scratch. Once you manage to do that there is no way to set modifiers to hit. Works perfectly for monsters but not for player characters. Why do monsters have actions and weapons but player characters do not? Why is there no standard weapons imported into the game along with all the magical items and spells?? This oversight is astonishing to me. Is there some tutorial to show how this is done?

Stellar App!
Project 13

This app has made remote D&D very much a “thing” that almost feels like a lossless experience when coupled with any video chat software. There are so many features and ways to use this app that I am still learning new things every week. I really can’t say enough about how incredible this app is. The designer is clearly an experienced DM, designing a tool that everyone can benefit from. Keep it up!

CONSTANT WORK LOSS AND CRASHES AFTER FUNNELING IN $$$
Raizaiel

I want to love this app. I really, really do. It’s arguably the most professional, fully-featured suite for dungeon and campaign management I’ve seen on iOS or ipadOS. When it works well, it works great. But it has repeatedly taken hours from me. This breaks my heart. Especially since I’m on a fully-updated iPad 2018 running this at its latest version. I’ve funneled in countless hours adding maps, setting fog of war and lighting, meticulously drawing out the walls or setting floor tiles, writing in complicated encounters, and adding in my players’ character sheets, line by line (that alone is NO easy task). Speaking of, the save button for inputting info for a player character is right near the edge of a window corner—and I cannot tell you how often I’ve tried to input a full spell sheet only to try to save, tap barely outside the window, and watch it dump all my work. Today alone, it did that to me four times. I also spent nearly 3 hours drawing out the wall boundaries of a single large, round dungeon vault with maybe two dozen offshoot rooms. It kept crashing 15 minutes in when I tried to draw the same wall spot; it crashed once or twice on other spots while drawing these walls, usually scattering at least the past few minutes of work. I gave up, moved on, and came back to them and finally got it. I saved it appropriately, under two names even. I paused to put in a waypoint marker, moved it around—it crashed. This time, all of that work was completely gone. It remembered one filename (not the other) but had no info tied to it. I sat there, horrified, staring at 3 hours of work that had just been wrenched from me. I felt sick to my stomach. I felt a complete fool. That is the last straw. I have bought every in-app purchase; I have a premium account; I have been diligently trying to use this app for two months—even considering upgrading from Mojave to Catalina on macOS just to be able to use it there (which is a very recent change)—and it has consistently forgotten files or crashed or deleted info. I’m sure others don’t have these experiences, but I have faced the numb horror of lost work one too many times. The promise it offers has wasted far too much of my time watching or reading the sparse tutorials, manually implementing data and content, and far too much of my money. I regret pumping over $20+ into this mirage that has ruined countless nights of DM prep.

Probably good but hard to tell

This seems like a great app, especially if you are reduced to relying on mobile for VTT sessions. However I can’t rate this above three stars for a couple of reasons. First of all, the help documents are basically nonexistent. The links are there and provide minimal information, but not nearly enough. You are going to have to figure out the sequence of making campaigns, adventures, and encounters on your own and how everything fits together by trail and error. Want to add a PC? Ok. Expect to add and delete stuff until you are sure how it’s supposed to tie together. And what is the DDB field at the bottom of the PC sheet for? I thought to add a link to the PC sheet in D&D Beyond but it doesn’t do anything. Another issue I found is that it doesn’t provide a way do attack rolls for spells, such as shocking grasp but does do damage rolls. For maps, the ability to import your own are their for $6, which is steep. I’m willing to pay for features but only if I know they will work and I’ll be able to understand how to work them.

Without a doubt the best VTT on the App Store
GRtist

This app has completely revolutionized the way I run my games. Absolutely jam packed with features, I’ve actually cancelled my subscriptions to most external tools and have made Encounter+ my one stop shop for everything I need. Compendium, character sheets, an intuitive and flexible interface, and a great community for additional support, I’ll probably be a lifetime subscriber. While there are some features that I hope will be added soon (playing music and sound effects to the external screen for example), the regular updates are pretty substantial (Casting the VTT to an external web server allowing for player interactions was an absolute genius move). So excited to see what this developer has in store down the road.

Almost Great
Live Life for God

Well though I’m not a big fan of subscriptions, I do like there platform for storing notes. Just jumped on this morning to find about 4 gbs worth of info gone. Yes it is store in the iCloud but it’s the second time I’ve had to do a full back-up. When WiFi is limited, this can be a big hassle.

Great!... but one little thing...
RussellDM

Overall this app is great, easy to add monsters/NPCs, easy to add or subtract damage, great combat tracker. My only “problem” is that it is missing a few monsters... Such monsters include Nothic, Orge, & Orc War Chief, and I assume more. BUT THIS ISN'T A PROBLEM!!! It’s just a nuisance. You can create custom monsters and edit any existing ones! Great feature!

Great app!

This app rocks. It has gotten my players much more involved. After a steep learning curve this app has turned into my favorite tool to run my campaign. It allows to make multiple encounters at one time so prep time is cut down significantly. Great app!!!!

Excellent
TheRunicTyto

A lot of work has went into this app, the built in roller does wonders and is automatically connected to the different monsters and character sheets. When you place a spell into a stat block it is automatically linked to the spell description.
