Ever since I began to DM, I've used paper for writing down initiatives... No more! A friend suggests finding an app, so I downloaded three different apps. This one came out on top, hands down. No more rolling 10+ times for covering all the players and monsters. No more talking over each other to tell me what their initiative was (and then forgetting to add the initiative bonus). No more manual calculation of damage. It's wonderful! Honestly, I'm not sure how the "save encounters" works, and the FAQ doesn't really cover that. If I could get some sort of answer for that, I'd be grateful. Unsure if the spell expansion is worth the purchase. I'm pretty sure there might be a few spells missing. I also think it'd be helpful if you could bookmark spells (so you could have a "spell book" of sorts). Bookmarking any sort of listed item would be helpful, for quick reference. I'm not upset with my purchase for the spell list, as that $0.99 is my support for such a great tool.

I got hoping it would make random encounters easier but it only uses creatures with a 0 cr no matter how I set it up, so it's virtually useless as the only way to get relevant creatures on it is to put them down myself at which point I literally don't need the app just a list of monsters

I've been in the market for a good app to use for D&D for a while. Unhappy with what I found, I stopped looking. I stumbled on this by accident and decided to try it out. This is by far the best app I've found. Initiative tracker is great and adding monsters into the fight is flawless. One of my main selling points on this app is the search function on monsters AND items- and the filters that can be applied. The one suggestion I have (and this is very minor) is with the health tracking system; adding health needs a negative sign next to it. Took me all of 5 seconds to figure out but looks a hit backwards at first glance. I am contemplating getting the spells unlocked, as players of mine never know what their spells do. When you have the chance could you tell me what is in the spell section? I saw a review that said there were spells missing; I would just like to know. Thanks for an awesome app!!

Easy to use at the table

Very easy to use, pre-populated with many monsters and super easy to enter custom stat blocks. This is the best encounter manager to run live at the table. All the configurations are intuitive, very quick to edit or generate encounters on the fly. I also appreciate the detail put into displaying the stat blocks, how they are designed to look like they are in one of the print books. Recommend buying the spell add in to support the developer.

This is great, I’ve tried a few different initiatives trackers but this one is the best. There are a few things I believe are missing that could greatly improved this app. 1) Additional player stats. I think that adding saving throws and skills would be useful for plannings future sessions when determining DCs and what creatures to fight. 2) Complete monster manual. I’ve noticed that there are some creatures in the manual that aren’t in this app. This can be harmful when running an impromptu one shot. 3) Healing in battle. Whether due to a potion or spell it should be easy to add HP to a creature without having to exit encounter and manually change health. Also better explain “heal” and “damage” conditions.

You really need to create a “Hit Dice” field. Hit Dice are critical for making new monsters.

Normally I don't use this type of thing, but this app is AMAZING! I only have a single problem with it-I need a favorite option! There are so many of everything that I can't find or remember my favorite spells, items or monsters! Pls add this soon!

An amazing tool, allows me to set up all my encounters before a game, has a handy difficulty gauge for the encounters. No longer do I have to flip through the MM or the PHB, this app has everything on an easily accessible interface. I highly recommend paying the 99 cents to upgrade spell integration, from the encounter screen you can access any spells a creature has with a singe click without leaving the encounter interface. This app has streamlined my role as a DM to a high degree, get it, you won’t regret it.
