Best IOS DM tool, helpful developer, fast updates

Indigo432

This is by far the best IOS app for DM/GMs. With features like an easily-navigable compendium (you can import xml files from online communities for additional content), a multi-tab battle map tool, an initiative/conditions/damage counter, and an intuitively integrated dice roller, apps like Game Master just don’t compare. I joined the discord and was greeted by a developer focused on user feedback and a very welcoming and supportive community. There is also a GitHub where anyone can post issues/feature requests. Since I got the app updates have been rolling out extremely fast. Dice rollers, tabs to quickly switch between battle maps, he is currently working on making it Mac-compatible and mirror on a website where players can move their own characters. You can buy all the necessary features for $9. If you want some nice add-ons and further support $25 a year. This is a very fair price to support a developer full-time and get all these amazing features.

Amazing

I love this app. I was able to get all the books added in and now I run everything from this free app. Encounters are so easy to run with the stat blocks assigned to the markers in such a user friendly way. So much easier to use than roll20. Initiative tracking, hp tracking, battle maps, screen casting, magic items, monster stats, easy to find campaign notes. I cannot day enough good things about this app. And it’s free?? There are some parts you have to pay for. I am using it entirely free for the time being.

Go-To app for DMs

Izzykong

This is my go-to app for running D&D sessions. It does a great job calculating everything you need for combat and XP. I love that you can enter your own characters and monsters. I love that it has graphics and layouts that make combat more interesting. My only critique is that it only comes with the core 5e creatures loaded. I wish you could buy the various modules that contain all the monsters and creatures for that module. Like a ToA or CoS creature pack for $2 each or something. The developers have also done a great job improving the app over time. Well worth the money.

A MUST have app for DMs

This is an amazing app. It is my go to for just about all of my DM planning, and while running the games. It took me a little bit to learn how the app worked when I first got it, but when I figured it out I ran with it. Other reviewers cover all details as to what features the app has, so I won’t waste time repeating what they say. I will say this though, this app makes planning and running my games massively easier. Before I did everything with a notepad and a calculator, and it slowed the process down. Now the sessions and encounters move quicker, and run much smoother. There are a couple of ways that I can see the app being improved upon though. There being some sort of guide to tell you how to work the basic functions of the app, the list of creatures to be updated instead of having to manually enter them in yourself, and be able to fill out PC stats like you would do with creatures. This all being said I absolutely LOVE this app and I can’t stop recommending it to others who also run games.

Must Have for DMs!

I absolutely love this app! Ever since I started using it, its made combat in my games so smooth. Having all of the information for the monsters in one convenient place is incredible! I had to add some compendiums, but it wasn't too hard. Worth the 99 cents I paid for spell support! I highly recommend this app!

Wonderful

I use this app week in and week out for every single game I run. It’s made my game so much simpler to control with all of the available features. I recently purchased the airplay support and that’s getting my group even more involved then before because they can see the battleground from the story. The ONLY reason it’s not a 5 star rating is because it doesn’t have every monster in the listing. I can’t expect every single monster ever but even things like a Dao or even the classic beholder needs to be added by hand.

Almost perfect

This app is so close to being everything I need. It would be helpful if there was an ability list similar to the spells list. Also, cantrips weren't included in the spell list which was a little disappointing. Otherwise, this app is worth having.

Highly recommended!

I love this app and have used it for all my encounters this campaign. I’m a fairly new DM so anything that can help make that task easier is appreciated. I like how streamlined and sleek the app interface and how easy it is to tally up damage. This is especially useful in a situation where you have a lot of enemies you need to keep track of. It also has a feature for marking conditions which is useful for me. Overall I really like this app specifically because it doesn’t try to do too much. A D&D essential

Best App for a DM

This is by far the best app that every DM should have. I tried DM 5 and Fight Club 5, but this absolutely tops both of those. Great uses for this app: - Tracks Initiative - Tracks damage and HP - Tracks Conditions - Set up laptop on opposite end of your table with the external screen support and it shows the order of initiative with images. Beautiful! (And if you dont have an apple product to stream to like myself, get AirServer. I stream to my windows laptop) - Has all spell descriptions readily available - Has all monster stats, and is designed like the Monster Manual (much better than just the black text on white background) - Does the math for you in calculating encounter difficulty, and also the XP to reward I HIGHLY RECOMMEND GETTING THE EXTERNAL SCREEN SUPPORT AND SPELL SUPPORT. Spell support allows you to just tap on any monster or PC, then tap on the spell like "fireball" and it pulls up that spell. Very user friendly Designer also responds extremely quickly on facebook to feedback, and implements ideas of customers. Very friendly. make sure to download all the .xml files for all items and spells across al published works. Only takes a minute!

Great!

It’s really good. Even without all the spells and stuff on it, it’s still really good at playing as a DM, especially if you don’t have any friends irl and are talking over a discord chat with a bunch of strangers! Anyways, it allows you to make custom items and enemies, and you can even add in the spells you’ll need. It’s really well made and streamlined, even if it can be a bit frustrating when first starting out.
