Ello—The better and nicer Instagram/Facebook

Ello is a breath of fresh air. Photos and text live nicely side by side. With better respect for its users and a chronological feed, I can chill on Ello. I love its support of Markdown. Though marketed as a Creator's Network, I call it a Thinker's Network. The community is nice. The latest Ello version loads fast and fixes bugs! This is the place to chill.

Followed people without my permission

Launched the app and it automatically followed over 40 people without my permission - pretty lame.

Lacks polish.

The default page for who you follow displays this text: "You aren't following anyone yet!" After it shows that, then it loads people you follow. The default page for your followers displays this text: "You don't have any followers yet!" After it shows that, then it loads the list of your followers. Why display text there at all when the page first loads? Default to a BLANK page. If there are no followers, then change it to say that. Don't have it start by displaying potentially wrong text, and then changing it.

Privacy breach, they will spy on you???

Long story short, they hack my account and lock me out and said the post that I've been posting are #NSFW yet my account have been private with no ones in my friend list. They so called said my post was all over or searchable in the database. There are other social media apps out there and I don't recommend this one and I'll show off the emails explaining of which why the app was disabled because I posted adult them. Again, I didn't create my account for others other than me yet they hack it and told me all of my activity

My blog Slut-Problems is thriving on ello. It's easy to use and the community is nice once you get to know them. I write erotica paired with pornographic gifs and I can post most things with confidence that no one under 18 is going to see them. I am flagged as explicit and I honestly like that there is that option. I also love the way ello presents my work so that all of my posts get views.

Ello is a great website and application. It gives creative artists a voice and opportunities. With many social media outlets smothering artists to promote their work, their site is a welcome site for us creatives. 5/5. It works great on android and iOS.

So much potential, but...

Before they add new features we need the developers to fix the most common bugs that prevent the consumer from using the app. For example: When submitting a picture on your profile and then writing a caption under it, every time you type the picture jumps up and down like crazy. Another example: When I try to add a link inside my post (very cool feature btw), I type a word then select it then click the link button. I then paste the URL I want and that’s it. I can’t click any buttons or anything. The only way to proceed is to force quit the app. There are a ton other bugs that aren’t as preventing. Keep up the good work!

Great app with minimal issues, quick fixes

You guys have been great about fixing bugs and quick too. Thanks! Still not a fan of the new photo feature when you click on a photo. The two fingers to spread for zoom is no good, double tap is better. Also you can’t easily exit out of this mode unless you completely take the zoom back to normal. That’s frustrating. I kind of like the slideshow feature but it’s not necessary if sacrificing the other stuff.
