Amazing and Powerful Editor

Ari Porad

This is a truly amazing editor. As a text editor alone, it's incredibly full-featured and powerful, and the automation tools make automating repetitive tasks a breeze. It's one of a few must-have apps for any serious iOS user.

Awesome Text Editor

AvenuesGuy

I love this app. My primary requirements for such an app are that it sync with Dropbox and offers dynamic text like time and date stamps. It does both and very well. Plus it has all kinds of flexibility. You can use plain text or other formats. And the layout is very clean and pleasant. It's my go to text editor for making quick notes with time and date stamps.

Powerful Text Editor

This application is amazing. Ever since the developer added split screen my productivity has increased. iOS text expansion is limited but the native text expansion in Editorial is perfect for automating email replies.

Neglectware

This is a great app in many ways, but has been severely neglected recently. Most text editor apps now support modern (iOS 9+) features like sharing/sending, 3D Touch, etc., and are updated more than once every half year. Editorial has been extremely complacent, and is verging on obsolescence. Clearly the developer has lost interest. Too bad: it was once the best text editor the store.

Great app; no iCloud sync

CdV73

It is a great app for taking notes, however it is only possible to sync notes via Dropbox, and there's no iCloud sync support :(.

Beautiful, highly capable text app

S_Power

This app is fantastic! The majority of the things I write on my Mac are in Markdown or Taskpaper formatted text files. I had a couple of different apps on my iPhone to handle these files, having tried many different apps, but Editorial replaces them and does it with a beautiful, elegant interface and tons of nice advanced features if you want them.

Best Markdown editor period + other tools

Cdzero

I have been using this app for a while. This editor does what other markdown editors do but you get features that other editors don't have such as the ability to create workflows with built in functions and custom scripts using Python. The python editors is simply amazing. Add to that the preview of your markdown by simply swiping left and customizing the looks using your own custom CSS. Summarizing, you can have a simple editor or have all the power over the final results that an application can give to the user.

Two missing features

Lefthounded

I love this app and use it every day for writing. It would be 5 stars if I could sync Workflows and passcode lock the app.

It's Hard to imagine a better editor

I like to calculate

Powerful, programmable plain text editor that also supports Markdown, TaskPaper, Python scripting. Runs on your iPhone and iPad, with document syncing via Dropbox. Use as is, or invest a little time to learn some advanced features for even greater productivity. One of the most brilliantly elegant iOS apps out there. The developer doesn't update this app often - but that's because it's very solid, bugs are rare, and it already got plenty of bells and whistles.

Swiss Army knife

There is really no replacement for Editorial. You can do just about anything with it due to its high level of integration with Python. Need a way to collect data or write in an organized fashion? Create a template and use a bit of Python or built-in prompts for user inputs. Need to parse data into human readable form? Python will do it and then get it into Markdown, HTML or other format. Then preview or export to another app or PDF. It has Dropbox integration and it works well although I can't seem to Image.save or Editor.set_file_contents successfully to Dropbox. Anyway, I'm building a journaling workflow for my wife and I'm really close to deprecating DayOne Classic. Wish I could use this at work.
