Love Editorial for markdown editing short notes and longer docs, with preview formatting, synched via Dropbox, and now even handier on iPad with slide-over. Thanks!

...and The Nobel Prize for a Ridiculously Useful App is for... *Editorial*.

got this for its reputation for balance of simplicity and power. I needed, at minimum: - fountain syntax - markdown syntax - anything-but-iCloud sync option - folders & intuitive file browsing interface - files saved in a plain/standard format bonus points for: - taskpaper syntax - dark/night mode - split screen It checked all the boxes I cared about (including bonus points); plus, I am pleasantly surprised to see the power/customizability of workflows available. Thanks for a killer app!

I have used over 20 different editors and IDEs on my iPhone. Some have been good, most disappointing. This is the first one that has completely blown me away. The feature set is stunning. By my second day I had written scripts to automate tasks that I had previously thought impossible. The feature set is rich to say the least, the UI is polished, and the documentation is great. Unexpectedly amazing.

If you have any skill at programming, this is by far the most productive writing app for iOS.

Moving beyond the limited Dropbox syncing would be nice. If it just supported document providers I'd be happy. Well, that and pull-to-refresh syncing

Like several others before me here have stated over the years I have purchased more text editor apps than I can remember. Each was pretty good in its own way but each was also lacking in what I really wanted. A programmable text editor. My search for the best iOS text editor has a happy ending to it.

This app does everything I want it to. If I have a text file I need to edit on the go, I drop it in Dropbox and I'm good to go. It supports .fountain, .txt, python, every format I use. Even with all it's features, perhaps the best thing about Editorial is it's clutter free environment. It's a simple, but powerful app - I love it.

Best Editor in the AppStore. Calling it a text editor is not even fair.
