Fabulous app

Tpom713

This app has made getting around Germany an absolute breeze. Almost a necessity for anyone wanting to travel around on public transport. So much easier to sit in my hotel room making plans for the day not having to go to the station or bus stop to find when buses leave. Plus easily able to find what buses go where.

I have been using this app for the last five years love it

Can't log in to app

After numerous password resets I still cannot seem to log into the app, basically making it useless for me...

This App cost me 60 Euros

Stupid me, but I thought a real-time app from Deustsche Bahn would immediately update a platform change. I relied on the app, and guess what, ended up on the wrong train. SOMEHOW, the ticket agent scanned my ticket and said nothing. I was enroute from Utrecht to Cologne, and now headed on a train to the center of Holland. After a few hours of finally gettin on the right train, DB charged ME 60 euros because I had purchased a non-refundable ticket. NOT happy with DB at all. They also failed to mention in their app that their trip from Cologne to Zurich didn't work, really. Apparently a tunnel near Basel is closed. However nothing is mentioned on the ticket. The only thing that was odd was that I couldn't make a First Class seat selection. So when I asked at the station I was told me this is what is going to happen: at Ramstatt the ENTIRE train was forced to unload into BUSES. Yes, completely disembark, down a flight of stairs to get out of the train station, up another. To buses about 500 meters away. Mind you it was HOT, and there were lots of senior citizens. And one huge mob waiting to get on bus, even those who paid first class like myself. Then a 20 minute ride to Baden Baden, finally on a SWISS train to Zurich. Be very careful with this app. I can't believe the problems it created for me, as well as cost me a lot of time and anguish. Always check the inforation on the Departure signs. I'm going to try to get a refund for the 60 euro ticket I purchased.

Great App

One of the first you should load when you land in Germany.

Definitely a Gem!

Deutsche Bahn really shines with this app! And it is one of easiest and most intuitive apps for looking up the train timetables and booking the fares. This app is continuously updated to reflect that. My favourite feature is the train line-up at the platform in real time. With this I know beforehand where to stand at the platforms before boarding the ICE trains. Deutsche Bahn also updates the train status in real time and sends the alert if there is delay, cancellation, equipment or platform change. Additionally, I am able to look up the train journey, select one I want, make the seat reservation optionally, pay for the fare, and add the ticket to Wallet all within the app. So ridiculously easy!

App wont open

I loved this app when I was in Germany. But after the last update, I cant open the app anymore because it keeps crashing. Please fix it so I can continue to use it!

No booking for others

You can only book a ticket for yourself with this app. None of the DB policies are spelled out in the app. You either have to know them or you read them after you buy your ticket. For example, you need to bring the credit card with you that you used to book your ticket. As long as you're familiar with Deutsche Bahn, this app can be convenient. But if you are not familiar with DB policies, better to book your ticket on the website.

Good with some delay

Vazizov

Very happy with the application's scheduling and ticket storage. But there is a delay of updates on train delays which can and have left me hanging with difficulties to reach my destination. For example, an additional delay of 15 minutes (on top of another 10 minute delay) made me miss a bus service that could have been planned for if the application updated the train's arrival sooner. While the information, i found out later is viewed on train station screen can take some 5-10 minutes before appearing on the application.

Useful, but crashes

The app has been a great tool with my travels around Germany. It was working great until recently. It crashes whenever I choose certain options, like checking real time info.
