Hate it!

Namanny

This the most user unfriendly apps I’ve ever seen! If you forget your user name or password there is no way to obtain it! Stupid! And I really want it to work!!!

Best Accountability Software

Darrell2

Covenant Eyes is the best accountability software I’ve come across. I’ve been using it for over a year. The fact that it works on my iPhone and has device wide protection is great. It does have a few holes and the browser is not the best, but I’m willing to use the browser since it keeps me safe. I keep my phone locked down tight. Safari and all other browsers are not in my phone and I cannot download any apps. All social media is blocked completely, including on a web search through Covenant Eyes, which is the only browser I have. Also, kudos to the Love People Use Things podcast. The podcast is for everyone, not just those who struggle with porn

This is a great tool for anyone trying to avoid all the garbage on the internet. The internet is a great tool, however, there is an overwhelming amount of danger out there for adults and children. Anyone who wants to safeguard there home and family, this is a must!!!

Ever-declining satisfaction

soon to be leaving

I got this to help monitor my peer-teens, but as I have this on my devices as-well I have nothing but growing frustration. It slows things down, sluggish response, and inconvenient login requirements. When you need your internet connection and your away from the info you’re left without the ability to use it. I’m real close to canceling the whole thing. I trust my kids more than CovEyes at this point. Dissatisfied across all platforms and devices.

VPN slows internet and drains battery

NateShay71

While I can’t complain, because it’s great to actually browse the internet on my phone, the new version’s vpn runs really slow and really does drain battery like crazy. My phone dies in almost one day now :/ there are so many loopholes trough other apps, even with the new vpn, so I’ve always just had the CE app, or no apps. But now that the vpn slows it down and eats the battery, it’s not as great for those of us who didn’t mind not using other apps.

VPN not working

brittanybishopp

My spouse and I both use Covenant Eyes for accountability. He recently told me he watched porn and when I asked how, he told me the names of a couple well known apps that he was able to access the Internet from. Even with the VPN monitoring, I was being told in his reports that everything looked good. If we are told we are getting device wide accountability, that is what I expect.

Says I’m not connected

It only works when I have Wifi available. I can not use it with my data plan if I’m out traveling.

Good in theory, more restrictive than filter settings suggest, particularly with YouTube

Theabidingdude1

I’m 100% for the way that the app works in and of itself, especially now that using the vpn makes it possible to maintain accountability and filters even when you use apps other than Covenant Eyes for browsing. However, I think the implementation with regard to YouTube is a bit much, as the app forces YT to run in “restricted mode” whether in app or on the website (contrary to the CE app description which indicates that only the app runs in restricted mode). I use and appreciate the filters that CE implements, but the filters are also set up in such a way that the age limit filters (mature, etc.) filter out exactly what I suspect they’d filter out and exactly what they suggest they filter out. YT’s restricted mode is more stringent than the filters (the ones I use at least), catching not only sexually explicit material but also material that the filters allow through based on how they’re set. This makes using YT an unnecessarily hamstrung experience. While I recognize that this is because YT’s restricted mode is all or nothing, with no gradations, a better solution should be possible. Perhaps something like giving the administrator of the CE account the capacity to turn YT’s restricted mode on or off would be useful and in line with CE empowering families/individuals in making informed decisions about how they encounter and consume content on the internet.
