I have no issues with the concept of this app. However, this is the slowest, buggiest, WORST iOS app I HAVE EVER USED. It makes using my iPhone XR plain miserable. Im about ready to cancel because this app is near unusable.
Videos not working on YouTube

For some reason all the videos on YouTube won’t work on my iPad app. This started a couple weeks ago. They worked before and they still work on my phone. What is going on?!? Please fix...

Now that my problem has been fixed I say the app is pretty good although it uses VPN connection which messes up a lot of things such as google maps and google earth but overall a good app

This app doesn’t help a whole lot. The only thing it does is stop you from viewing anything with a bad name, for example, I can’t listen to my favorite acá pella group, Straight No Chaser, on the Covenant Eyes filter because ‘that’s a bad name, and even thought it’s totally ok by even harsh standards, we’re going to block it because of it’s name’ WHAT!!?! Not only that, but on the flip side of the same issue, the app won’t stop you from watching bad stuff if it’s name seems kid friendly. Overall a terrible app and it needs some huge upgrades. Base your restrictions of of the content, and not the name of the site. It’s that simple.??

To be clear here, I’m reviewing only this app and not the covenant eyes service in general. I’m a huge proponent of what covenant eyes is providing with there screen accountability services. The PC version of their service has very few issues and gives the protection I want for my family. That being said, this app is almost not usable for me. It’s slow, glitchy, and often freezes or crashes doing simple tasks. Furthermore the user interface is just clunky. It makes me feel like I’m using an old iPhone 3 iOS or something. I really like the direction they are going with the vpn monitoring activity over the entire phone, but I’m not sure how much I can trust it at this point. It is crucial for someone like me to have a responsive and reliable browser, and this just doesn’t make the cut so I’m often having to fall back to less protected browsers which kinda defeats the point of paying for this service... This app needs a massive overhaul in efficiency and user interface.

Knowing that someone is observing me takes away the temptation. It’s easier to change a behavior when you are not doing it by yourself. Just wish that the service wasn’t as expensive. It’s hard to pay for something over and over again. I feel like it would be ideal at a lower price. Recurring fees just eat up a paycheck.
