Catan FAQ:

Question: An expansion seems gone after an update or reinstallation of Catan or after restoring the device?
Answer: Don’t worry, your initial purchase is already saved in your iTunes account. You can restore your InApp purchases by selecting the restore-option in the Catan IAP menu.

Question: I lost my campaign progress after reinstalling, updating or restoring my device. Is there any way to restore it?
Answer: When saved games can’t be automatically restored, we’ve integrated a cheat code: In the campaign mode go to select player and enter "CatanWarp*" (* = 1–15) as your player name and confirm. Exit the game via the home button and restart it. The campaign can now be continued from the specified level number (1–15). Levels up to the specified number will be unlocked in the custom game mode as well.

Question: Are dice rolls really random?
Answer: Of course! All dice rolls are 100% random and not modified in any way. We’re avid Catan players ourselves. We’ve played the iOS version hundreds of times while developing the program. There have been times when we won and lost a few games in a row because of the dice - just like when playing the board game!

There are so many inconsiderate leavers when playing online. There absolutely needs to be a system implemented where you can see, next to the avatar on someone, their “sportsmanship rank” or something along those lines, which indicates how often they just leave matches after the initial settlement placements. Not the app’s problem, but it’s very frustrating and people need to be held accountable, suspended or banned if they do this over 50 percent of the time. Online is unplayable most of the time because of this, but this solution above would likely fix it. Also, when someone leaves a game and then rejoins, there is a frustrating glitch where you press the ready button and then it kind of “grays out” and you can’t press it again and confirm you are ready so there’s nothing you can do at that point because the button just stops working. This version if much more visually pleasing than the other one, and if you fixed these issues it would be the better app.

AI use of Resource Monopoly card ruins game

The AI players always seem to each get 4 or 5 resource monopoly cards whereas I get it maybe once per 3 whole games. It’s clearly slanted toward the AI players to get that card which just ruins the enjoyment of the game. And when they play it most of the time it gets a lot of resources from everyone as if it knows what each player has. It never gets zero. I have gotten zero resources several times playing the card. Just get rid of the card if you can’t give it out fairly to all players.

I want my money back. Anytime you move the robber the control panel disappears so you can’t continue. Waste of money.

I think this app has been abandoned. Ive been experiencing fatal error for months. I’ve deleted the app and later reinstalled but I’m now abandoning it just like the developers apparently have. It was fun while it worked, though.

Are the Dice Random ?

In there FAQ they claim the dice are random. As many reviewers have noted, the AI seems to get amazingly lucky. After playing hundreds of time, I think the dice are random. HOWEVER, it appears that the AI players have an edge in knowing what those random numbers will be. I can’t tell you how many times AI puts the robber on the number next rolled by the dice. What are the odds that it puts the robber on 11, just before I roll 11 twice in a row. Happens virtually every time the AI moves the robber. Just because they claim the rolls are random, it doesn’t mean the AI doesn’t know what those rolls are. The game should be “fair.” It isn’t at the moment.
